at this point of the season I'm not about to let speculation about our coach take away the focus of winning the game this saturday evening. On the other hand, if he WANTED to go (and he has a right to do whats best for his family) then let him go. I seem to remember a speech that went along the lines of "if you don't want to stay and work hard..then go" As far as I'm concerned it apllies to EVERYONE at the club - players and coaches
Let's not panic on this and let's not follow the media hype!!
Ross is "contracted" for next year - a very important point.
The Club wants him.
Ross has indicated to several people that he wants to stay - I assume, it's unfinished business.
I believe that he has the confidence of the players.
The Saints and Ross are a good fit.
Why change teams - it's not for the money at his level.
I reckon if Ross went to Melbourne, he'd be making exactly the same mistake Terry Wallace made when he left Footscray and went to Richmond. He had achieved success and respect at Bulldogs, yet walked out on them and went for the money and younger, more attractive looking list. In the end, it was an absolute disaster.
Ross and the saints are running and functioning together well, the relationship is working, so IMHO he'd be taking a huge risk if he left and it may backfire on him nastily.

Whats not to like about a younger list with more years in them to become a power house??
Are the Saints and Ross really functioning that well together????
Don't get me wrong they have been but how much more do they have with the list they have????
Trust is the hallmark of his whole coaching philosophy. He emphasized it again tonight. He aint going anywhere.
The players will know first- not us or the media
I though the dialogue was with Saints, hasn't that been mentioned before, that they had approached him about an extention...so he said sort out your 5 year plan first?

I mean he's just so over his own game that if journos were players we'd have seen this trumped up "expert" retired years ago.
What a nothing piece of hyperbole, I mean he leaves it till 2/3rds in to tell us "Lyon and saints will probably stay together ....but its not a lock".
Serial ship jumper is Mike - adored Ball lover (family connection) and if hes the example of "Go Dees"......I reckon Ross Lyon would be mad getting into bed with this rabble.

Sure is.
St Kilda is willing to extend - with conditions. Lyon's management apparently is willing to recommit - with fewer conditions.
Sounds like a normal negotiation to me, just working out the minor details....
