Zac-Pelchen ?? !!

Post: # 1148633Post Eastern »

Was Chris Pelchen in charge of Hawthorn's list when they de-listed Zac? If so, can/should we read anything into the fact that Zac hasn't re-signed yet? !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Heard long ago -- before Pelchen's arrival -- that Zac was entertaining the idea of a GWS move. Would hardly be surprised if SOS nabs him.

Not heartbroken.

I think that Zac is a highly underrated player. Just who would you suggest replace him in the back line?

Archer or simpkin...

I would also be not upset to see him leave as long as we got reasonable compensation. Archer Simpkin or Blake would do as well!

Make up your mind - happy for him to go as you obviously think he is no good - but hold on "as long as we get reasonable compensation.
Zac does make some mistakes but have a look at the number of goals kicked directly on him.

Would be very disappointed if we lost Zac.

He is a very good stopper.

Well Pelchen may have had some involvement in giving Zac the flick from Hawthorn but presumably he was also involved in getting him there in the first place.

When he left he was a Box Hill player. He's now a legitimate senior player with three GF appearances on his resume.

Why do some people always assume the worst?

I would rate Zac Dawson in the top 6 full backs in the league. He has his bad days but that is the nature of his role. He isn't Scarlet or glass but he is our best option in a difficult position. Hawthorn would have loved to get him back I would think.

You're fooling yourself, if we don't get rid of Zac, and recruit Anthony Rocca, we're dooooomed!

+ 1. 196 cm defenders dont grow on trees.

you know zac was in the AFL top 5 for 1%ers.

So cant believe people still criticise this bloke. wed be farked without him.

but agree he has one weakness - he needs to hit the gym and get stronger and a bit more bulk in him. but that is something that he can work on.

keep him - get him in the gym and we will get 5 years and another 100 games out of him.

Could be pure speculation...Gary Lyon on MMM mentioned that Dawson might be heading to Freo...he heard from a source and Damien Barrett said that's what some sources are whispering

I would be surprised if he went to his third club, wouldn't be surprised if he followed the guy who gave him a second chance though

We've put a lot into the bloke and rejuvenated his career. It would be a shame to lose him. Really he's not that bad of a player, certainly better than any other FB we have on our list

Freo have an AA fullback...would Zac really want to head West so he can play in the WAFL? Or are they seeing him as a key forward now? Sounds like a class A WAG from the other Lyon.

Ross may put a stop to Mcpharlin's career. He has form.

Imo, Zac has an attitude problem.

His skills are terrible, every time he has to kick the ball you hope the kick will hit.

Hes not big enough either to be a FB.

If he wants to go, then go. I cbf trying to convince players to stay. If you want to play for this club, for the supporters, for the sponsors and for your teammates loyalty then stay, otherwise go.

If you want a full back, you want someone like Gibson or Sam Fisher.
