Just like 2009 and 2010 GF1

Post: # 1153459Post perfectionist »

Neither team is playing their "footy" style, because all of that has gone out the window. It's basically man on man - and the best team should win - egregiously umpiring decisions notwithstanding. Two bad ones didn't help our cause in 2009, although our wasted ops cost us more. Umpire Rosebury seems to be doing his best to help the Pies, aided by the worst goal umpiring decision I have ever seen in the AFL. I am an advocate for 4 goal umpires in the finals -there are plenty available - but that decision, with the goal ump under the ball, and I know plugger66 will appreciate the significance of this, then starting to give the point signal to boundary ump, he gave it a goal. Will be his last game - should be his last game. Cats should win. But, it's a GF.

Apart from the wrong goal umpiring decision I think the umpires have been great.

Yep because they've been seen and not heard. But they will never learn. There is a lesson there for all umpires

Rosebury is a good umpire I think. He may have made a couple of blues today, but generally he is one of the more consistent umps going 'round.
Good to see the Maggies go down convincingly, even if it was hard to support Geelong after 2009. I just don't think I could have dealt with another summer of love for Mick et al.
For some reason this result gives me far greater optimisim for next season.
Wonder if Max will return to the fold...

Is that your excuse? They were pretty awful today, the bookmakers must have worded them up.

Ill point them out

Johnson high tackle....

Thomas in the back...

One in the back in the first quarter which was highlighted by darcy twice

Pendlebury free in the third

Bartel not getting a high in the third
Johnson not getting a high in the second

There's a few......

But you being an umpire means your a sympathiser......

Lets not forget the all clear....goal

I could, but I'm on to my second bottle of Mumm (I'm a beer teetotaller, just not a champagne teetotaller). I'll let you know in five months time.

Cheapskate. Aussie sparkling is still crap compared to the real thing. I'm sure it will be an investment that pays off.
