1993 rewind- queries

Post: # 1182853Post saintbrat »

in my review of a few years on Video I am up to 1993

question the Theme song being used on some games includes extra words about 'Down at moorabbin'
does anyone have a link to complete version?
was it used at games or only as music over video?

I have noted that game style appeared to have changed from 1992 despite coaching staff being the same? was this as it happened?

Everitt and Lecket are just baby boys.
Nicky winmar can certainly lay a tackle

on game telecast the Saints taberat is being advertised and in another there is a half time ad with Mike Williamson and a very very young Paul Hudson advertising AFL Travel.

Gee reading a lot of your posts I thought you just about knew everything about the Saints since their inception... Now i am so disillusioned.

Saintbrat asked a legit question and needed a legit answer

Whats wrong with you? Every time someone posts it seems you try to either belittle them with some smartacre comment or show your ignorance with your attempt at wit(sarcasm)

I have no idea what you are on about. A person asked a question and I just wanted to know when that person started following the saints. That person would now know more about the club than everyone combined on here so i was surprised that person didnt know the answers to the question. That is why I asked the friggin thing. As I said fair dinkum what is wrong with some people on here.

There was no belittling or smartarse responses or questions. Now please stop it. That person doesnt want to answer so no big deal.

Saintbrat - I think it was part of the "Go Plugger Go" song.

It went something like ...
Down at old Moorabbin there's a great spearhead.
He's the one the wears the black white and red
Go Go
Go Plugger Go
etc.

There was a number of quite amusing verses.
I think I've got it on a cassette tape somewhere.
(Shame I don't have a cassette player anymore!)

It seemed to me that P76 posed a reasonable question. I don't know why saintbrat is being so defensive.

I'd like to know the answer too.

I don't get this! How did P66 belittle Saintbrat?

As far as I can see it was a simple question.

How about you read posts for what they are and don't try and make a big deal out of nothing?

Great stuff mcadam05.

I remember going to see the Coodabeens at the Armidale Hotel in the late 80s or early 90s. As the only one in the crowd with a Saints jumper on I was dragged on stage for this song.

Thankfully for all those who were there that night the occassion brought out the Milli Vanilli inside me :)

I don't think the OP is referring to the Coodabeen Champions song, I think he (or she) may be referring to that song which was to the tune of When the Saints Go Marching In, but had extra verses and was often played at Moorabbin before matches, and after them when (if) we won (which wasn't too often before 1990).
I vaguely remember a couple of these verses going something like this:

We're on top down at Moorabbin

And we always stand up for our mates,
because we're the Saints

(or something similar)

Hope this helps.
