Some of you are spoilt brats.
Complaining about SD.
40 years ago, all we had was black and white television.
There were no live games. Football replay was on Saturday night they would show the final quarter of two or three games.
The others missed out.
If you wanted live, you either went to the game or listened to it on radio.
As there was always six games in Melbourne at the same time, the broadcast would sometimes be on 3DB or 3UZ, it would be interrupted by horse racing, even if a player was lining up for goal after the final siren to win the game.
On those radio stations horse racing took top priority.
Then colour television started in Australia. The old colour televisions were not great. If you lived in the wrong area, your picture may be very poor.
One of the worst problem was called ghosting. This is where the images looked as though they overlapped.
Not great for watching sport.
On top of all that, the Sainters did not win many games.
And some people lived in shoe boxes.
Fair dinkum
