Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I wouldn't have a clue about team selection,I would never have thought Newnes was in line a week ago.
However I am mystified why Sipposs isn't playing? Anyone know the reason? Disciplinary? Would of thought moving forward he was an absolute lock in the 22.
Would like to Ledger get a gig on the ground also,is he not fit enough or something?

Bring back the Lockett era
Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
i'd say it has to do with structure. playing kozi, roo and stanley means our fwd line is already pretty tall. siposs has a tendency to drift out of the game for long periods of time, which we cant really afford when we already have stanley in there, who also drifts out of the game (albeit alot less). the thing stanley has on his side is he can go into the ruck. siposs could really only go on the wing, but again he drifts out of games.jonesy wrote:I wouldn't have a clue about team selection,I would never have thought Newnes was in line a week ago.

siposs also was quiet in the last vfl game and suffered a pretty heavy knock to the knee in the game before that. give him time. he'll get his shot, just needs to get some vfl form back first.
atm i think wilkes is ahead of siposs for a recall

No change - swap Cripps and Ledger for the sub role. Why change a winning side.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Milne will kick 4. Match ups are well in his favour this week.
Cripps to the sub slot, Ledger to the starting side.
Like others I reckon Polo may come in to muscle a WB's running type, possibly for young Newnes.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

In today? Final team? As alluded to above. We are playing on Saturday, are we not? Or am i missing something.
I dont think their will be a change.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
In reference to Siposs above, I imagine that as BigMart alluded to in another thread, he is being groomed as a more utility type player, perhaps that can run through the middle, and even push back, and use his absolutely elite kicking skills as entry into the F50... Not just as a finisher...
Add a a few string to his bow... Best way to do this is throw him around in the VFL for a few weeks, then let him step it up in the 1's... I guess if he has a few solid hit outs in the VFL in the next fortnight, he'll be in... And to stay...
My guess for this weeks teams...
In: Polo, Out: Newnes. Cripps to sub.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Got to say it but with Milera stepping up and Schneider to come back atm there isn't a spot available for Sippos. He'll need to knock loudly on the door via the VFL and one of the current crop to have a form slump. Having said that a good selection dilemma to be having!

I'm happy to go with the wisdom of the Kernal, OK and Clarkey. No change - except of the sub.

If no injuries:
In Polo (received a coaches vote last time he played - need to lock down some of those WB small/med fwds and mids)
Out Newnes or Cripps
Ledger plays
Sub Cripps or Newnes, whoever stays in
Emg: Cripps or Newnes, Wilkes, Ray

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
A team can never have too many really good kickers though so a spot would be found for Siposs. If he is being groomed as a utlity/swingman/generally awesome player type role then should he not be able to fit in anywhere on the ground?Richter wrote:Got to say it but with Milera stepping up and Schneider to come back atm there isn't a spot available for Sippos.
