Hawthorns divine right of victory
They were embarassed by the swans and the script is currently being written that they will heroically beat us this week to get their season back on track. Franklin all over the papers. The herald sun are already preparing the victory headlines.
It is so disgustingly predictable and i am certain their supporters, in fact the entire hawthorn football club from Kennet down will be fired up ready to hit the packs hard, win the contested football and beat our "JOKE" of a football club.
I hope we give the universe one of greatest "f*** yous" ever and roll the hawks. Hope our guys are ready for some amazing football. We're running well now, attacking with more flair than i've seen in a long time. There is some instinct crawling back into our game rather than rigid structured robotic Ross Lyon discipline. It is becoming a joy to watch and i'm sure a joy for the players.

Re: Hawthorns divine right of victory
We match up well on the Hawks I reckon. We smashed them Q1 last year before Kosi's wayward shot took the foot off their throat and we fell asleep at the wheel. We'll watch the Swans tape pretty close. They ran bloody hard the Swans. The prize for us is 4-2 and tremendous belief. For them 2-4 would be a tragedy I'd love to watch play out. That far behind and 4 will become tough for them given their frankly criminally unfair draw. They'll be playing for keeps Sat night. Emotive s*** aside, their backs are undermanned, short, undisciplined and prone to panic. Our tall, athletic fwd line will be a handful if we halve the clearance count. Our mids measure up well with anybody. I presume we can smother Rioli (whose enigmatic moments overstate the influence he has). But who takes Buddy? Gilbo? And I would seriously consider tagging the bejeezus out of Mitchell.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Odds seem right to me. Like you said if you think we can win back them.
Re: Hawthorns divine right of victory
ralphsmith- bloody great post, they have had their players' meeting today, 'we will turn it around', it is all on this week. Makes me sick, and I really hope our group understand and embrace that from every aspect. An integral point, if we happen to win this week it will be all about how disappointing the Hawks are, rather than how good we may have been. And I, like all you guys and gals, would revel in all the bulls*** crap, knowing what we know. The underdog status is OK with me, and it is great to prove dismissive 'it's about us' comments wrong.

Wait, I thought from what I read when I got back in the country that a Carlton vs Hawthorn Grand Final had already happened...
It was a certainty wasn't it?

You can listen to Bristle tell you Carlton are still a massive chance at 28 points down with two minutes to go, you can listen to him tell you all about Lorne, or you can watch a monkey on a pushbike...I know which I prefer...

Re: Hawthorns divine right of victory
Very worried, on the rebound their form is not that bad, Sydney are top 4 class and Haw travelled from WC to Melb to Tas in a week, Swans Syd - tas. We struggled to beat Melbourne who are rubbish.
No obvious match up for Buddy (not that many have one) , Jones to Mitchell , Simpkins to Roughhead and Blake to Hale. Geary to Rioli . Best chance is to breakeven in middle as their backline is small and if Gibson doubtful even better.
Hope i am wrong but could be a belting

We will get some money on us from our friends who drop cases of money at umpires doors and the free kick tally will mysteriously favour us for a change.

Your best post yet.
Words cannot describe my hatred of Hawthorn.
Yes, the entire media will unite, from Jake 'Hawthorn' Niall onwards.
Plus that twisted sister, Roosy, who's so annoyed 'cause he got so much money from the Swans and the AFL that he never has to work again but can't keep his nose out of the game.
Plus the lugubrious Walls, with his pen always poised to write off the Saints...he holds a grudge after being clobbered by Cowboy Neale and Big Carl.
Everyone from kennett to smug newsreaders will help set the scene for an heroic Hawks win.
Let's let's deliver a huge f%$k you to the whole lot of 'em.
In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.

Re: Hawthorns divine right of victory
Probably would flog if the intensity of the supporters was matched by the skills of some of our supposed stars!
Hopefully it all comes together, but if we're waiting for Lenny and a bunch of 1st season players to beat top sides we are in for a very rude shock.

You should look up their record in the 70's before you start pulling apart everything I say. You are 2 for 2 in the failing stakes so far today. And by the way it was a bit of a joke. You get jokes dont you?
