Chants for games?
In another post I suggested that we should have more than the few songs/chants/coordinated crowd exclamations that are currently being employed.
Here are some suggestions, perhaps unoriginal or even not very good, but they will get the job done.
Milera goal (Chorus to Beds are Burning):
How can we lose if Milera's scoring?
He's light as a feather and he's never boring!
possible extension for Q4;
The time has come, to say goodbye,
St Kilda's won now, go home and cry.
For anything where Dempster gets the better of his opponent (The famous bit in The Macarena);
He tackles, he spoils and he wins one-percenters,
He marks and he plays on, he kicks balls to centers,
He played you, you missed it, your man is relentless,
Heyyyyyy, You've been Dempstered!
Saad goal (Chorus to I Predict A Riot);
Ahmed Saad's on fire,
Ahmed Saad's on fire!
Anything where Lenny does something excellent (To the tune of the Buddy Holly classic "Everyday");
Lenny Hayes, just keeps getting better,
When he plays, St Kilda fans can bet a
premiership* will surely come our way,
A hey, a hey, a hey hey!
Like them? Use them! Think of your own as well!
Don't like them? Put your suggestions up here!
* If you're uncomfortable using the P-word, substitute the words "famous win"

Re: Chants for games?
I like your work Austinnn - would love it if the saints crowd could get some proper chants going -would love to get a more EPL feel on game day - rather than the stuff they dish up at the teniis /cricket etc ozi,ozi ozi oi oi oi - couldn't be any worse - would like to see half a dozen chants included in the membership pack - and maybe handed out to supporters as they cross the bridge into etihad -- would be great if it could somehow be done

Or do as the case may be, depending on personal taste (that's a statement, not the next part of the chant)
You can listen to Bristle tell you Carlton are still a massive chance at 28 points down with two minutes to go, you can listen to him tell you all about Lorne, or you can watch a monkey on a pushbike...I know which I prefer...

St Kilda's won now, go home and cry.
That I like..might see if the MW can get that going on Fri night..subject to it being over early in Q4 lol

We need a new one for after a goal IMO
Hopefully that doesn't offend anyone, I'm so sorry if it does
Could someone tell me what the woo chant actually is, because I only ever catch the woo at the end.
Needs to sound more intimidating / gloating like.
I'd be happy if you just chanted the name of the person who kicked it.

Re: Chants for games?
I remember vividly (unfortunately!) hearing the Brisbane fans at the Gabba in 2004 with that "lions! lions!" chant swirling around the stands. I hate to admit it but I was impressed! During my time in the SC area on level one-aisle 18/19 a few of us tried to start up a "Sainters! SAINTERS!!!! SAINTERS!!!" chant in the same vein, but quite often it was just yours truly and a few other brave souls who kept at it!
St Kilda forever ( God help me)

Re: Chants for games?
I always loved the "Stevie Milne walks on water" chant or fro subi in bangers 350th the simple "baaaaangerrrrrs baaaaaangerrrs! " was simple but great ... Must admit the "who is it? " chant when the opp miss a set shot makes me laugh
Although lame I also like " you can't stop Jack Steven .. No body can stop Jack Steven" to the tune of the village people can't stop the music
Keeping with the lame 70's chants " ther is something in this kid alright .. His poise his fight .. Milera " to the tune of ABBA's Fernando
I could sadly go on and on but I fear I have already lost enough respect with the last two ;}

I would love to incorporate what the Green Bay Packers do for chants, they have that bit of music that plays and then the fans all yell out at once GO PACK GO. We could have the drum roll from the start of the theme song do two rounds and then yell GO SAINTS GO.

I can suggest some lovely adapted New Orleans Saints chants...bit of Dixieland jazz anyone?

Re: Chants for games?
I'm hoping that the only chant we need is:-" Scoreboard!"
Not terribly imaginative, but oh so effective.

Actually, it got me thinking that that one would fit better with our #26:Austinnn wrote:st_Trav_ofWA wrote:Keeping with the lame 70's chants " ther is something in this kid alright .. His poise his fight .. Milera " to the tune of ABBA's Fernando
There is something that hard tags can't kill, The poise, the skills, of Dal Santo!
Even just a Kosi Kosi Kosi! Oy Oy Oy! chant would be alright.
OR for fans of early 90s agit rock, how about this one to the tune of RATM's Killing in the Name of:
Nah nana nah, Nah nana nah, Nah nana nah, Kick it to the TipRat*!
Nah nana nah, Nah nana nah, Nah nana nah, Kick it to the TipRat*!
Nana na! Now he'll kick round his body,
Nana na! Then he'll kick a banana,
Nana na! Then he'll kick a torpedo,
Nana na! And he'll rack up a bagful!
*if you like you prefer, you can substitute Milera for The TipRat
Or maybe this one after Sam Fisher has chopped off another attack, to the tune of ACDC's It's A Long Way To The Top:
It's a long way past the Fish if you wanna score a goal
Got to admit, I haven't lived in Australia for about 10 years so I don't really know what songs people know over there these days, so I'm going with some classics. Maybe some of you can work wonders with a song that's pretty big these days, nothing too faddy, a modern classic if you like.
