Reality Check
Ok so we are said to be chasing Caddy and Mitch Brown. Caddy has at least three clubs chasing him maybe more. Geelong would have to be the front runner to get him as a compo pick for Ablett. That puts them ahead of us. Brown is still under contract to the Weagles. i can't see us giving away pick 13 just to get him. So i ask what is plan B? Rivers is too small in my view and is not a good mark. Blake is past it. Hickey and Currie and Warnock have been mentioned. I hope we have a plan B in case we can't get what we want as a first preference. I guess we will find out next week. It's just that usually there are hot rumours linking the club to a player and there just hasn't been apart from Caddy and Brown which I suspect we aren't going to get but happy to be proved wrong.

I'm sure the club know what they are doing. Lets hope everything they are doing falls into place and we don't need to worry about plan B.

Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.

Hang on. It is Geelongs compo pick, so it would have to be taken after Geelongs normal pick, no matter who holds it, so if Geelong finish high on the ladder it is not very attractive.
This has happened this year, with GWS having a pick after Adelaide, for that reason.

I believe the compo pick has nothing to do with anyone but Geelong, regardless of who they trade it to. The position of the pick will be decided by where Geelong finish, not who owns the pick.gringo wrote:plugger66 wrote:Geelong dont have a compo pick this year.

So GC's decision is #13 in this years draft or an unknown but likely pick in the teens in the 2013 draft.

Looks like we are in the box seat with if we get the compo at 13 for Brendan we could conceivably get a First round pick and caddy. Sounding like it's gonna be an interesting trade period and we will be very active you'd think. We just need Caddy to be a gun player and the rest will take care of it's self.
