Hope Webster plays, if only to give him some experience in the big league, the evolution is here.
Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.

Why is bloody Saad still in the team?
I know Carlscum have those annoying shytes Yarran and Betts up forward, but our midgets are up the other end!

Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
You would think
Geary Hickey Ray Jones will be the interchange.
Saad very lucky to be given another game
Webster has to be right in the mix.

They can actually drop people out of the 18 especially with 4 days to go.

Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
11 players who've played less than 25 games. Can't remember a time in the real season that this has occurred (maybe 2002?). Admittedly, there won't be that many in the final 22, but it's an amazing stat given the age/experience profile of the team less than 2 years ago.
If Milera plays, I suspect Saad will make way for him.
Looks like Watters has put a line though Blake. Feel for him.

I reckon Blake will play if Rhys gets injured sometime this year, or Ben&Hickeycwrcyn wrote:11 players who've played less than 25 games. Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
Terry Wallet bagged us out again on SEN and pointed out how disastrous our drafting was between 2008 and 2010. He suggested that Lyon wasn't at fault for drafting badly and if he was it was because the club was too weak to stand up to him. We need to play our kids badly and the sooner we get the guys up and running the better. It was a pretty bleak assessment.

Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
Wallet isn't saying anything that isn't out there as general football knowledge, someone should ask him how his prized draft pick, Tambling is faring.......gringo wrote:Terry Wallet bagged us out again on SEN and pointed out how disastrous our drafting was between 2008 and 2010. He ran out of ideas at the Bulldogs and proved that at the Tigers and is still proving it on the radio....

Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
SEN is a lowest common denominator station for the most part, so he does ok.bobmurray wrote:Wallet isn't saying anything that isn't out there as general football knowledge, someone should ask him how his prized draft pick, Tambling is faring.......gringo wrote:Terry Wallet bagged us out again on SEN and pointed out how disastrous our drafting was between 2008 and 2010. If only they had more crunch time type segments on the station would be far better.

Yeah he didn't say anything that we don't already know. Almost sounded like he was trying to describe how wet water is.

Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
I hope they persevere with Stanley as a KPD . This year is a right off so why not invest another 15 games into his development as a defender rather than throw him around.
Hope Saad gets a spell to find some form in the 2s.

Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
I agree. With White and Lee coming through as key position forwards, we need height at the other end.Zed wrote:I hope they persevere with Stanley as a KPD . This year is a right off so why not invest another 15 games into his development as a defender rather than throw him around.
Just because Cloke pulled Stanley's pants down last week isn't good enough reason not to persevere with him in defence.
If anything it should have taught him a valuable lesson. Play to your strengths ... pace, reach and height (not strength) ... and always keep your eye on the ball.
It's a bit wishy washy ... by which I mean weak and lacking in conviction ... if he's immediately moved after one poor performance IMO. And I say that in full knowledge of the injures to our other tall forwards - Maister, Lee, White - and Kosi's suspension.
Play Siposs as the other key forward if necessary. He can mind a spot while we wait on others.
Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
White and Sipposs coming through? Really?
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Have never understood why allot in the media have always thought that his sh#t don't stink .
He had a couple of decent years at the dogs , then did Fu#k all at the tigers .
He was watching sandy play on Sunday !
Does he work for the blues or something ?

I said White and Lee, and when they hit their straps there will be no spot for Stanley in the forward line. So his future is as a defender ... in my opinion of course.
Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
With the way the development of young players goes I wouldn't be penning it in that they are going to succeed let alone hold down a position but hey if you think they're up to it that's your opinion. Personally I don't think White or Lee have shown anything other than a glimpse of talent.bigcarl wrote:PJ wrote:White and Sipposs coming through? Really?

I hope Ray gets back in.
I hope all the "ins" get a game -- Ray, Hickey, Gwilt, Milera, Webster.
For (I hope -- without wishing any of them badly) Koschitzke, Gilbert, Murdoch, Saunders, Saad.

sounds probably right. We are playing the kids, we all know about the the drafting period. not much we can do about it now. We were playing fora fladg and and in the grand final, why would the club be considered weak.

Re: Team Monday Saints V Blues
Even with this inexperienced side I reckon we're a real chance to beat Carlton, who still haven't got a back line and if we get the match ups right then their forward line could be suspect as well.
Good to see Tommy Ledger back in and I hope Webster gets a crack.
