Rhys
Looked a bit disappointed with himself as he came off...maybe because of the Blues come back, and his last Qtr job on Hampson...but I reckon he's doing pretty well as a key defender, especially when he is new to the gig. Got good closing speed, just some positioning issues.
Nee!
Re: Rhys
still learning.
Getting the hang of it.
Not great but going OK at a positional change.

Lance or James??

Re: Rhys
I still reckon he's a natural forward. Hopefully, this s just a stage of his development. Once we recruit another KPD, I trust we'll see him up forward, terrifying opposition defences. I think he's done ok so far.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Re: Rhys
I actually thought Siposs looked more dangerous tonight as a forward than Rhys ever has and don't forget we have Spencer White and Tom Lee being developed.
All three have a track record of kicking goals ... albeit not in the big league.

Re: Rhys
Needs time.
Not a natural footballer.
Just let the kid play .
Dunno if it matters where he plays as long as he plays
I don't think he's a natural fwd either.
He's doing fine.
Give him a year. Heck at least he's on the park every week.

Re: Rhys
He'll do better at CHB rather than FB
he'll do well as an attacking CHB that can float forward/ruck provided he has support

Re: Rhys
I think he is really vulnerable... Starting to lose confidence and panicking
He is a pretty clean player, he fumbles continually now and looks shaky.... Thought he struggled again
I'll reiterate
He is not a power defender.... Not a body player

yep, get him off the last line. He's not a last line of defence type of player.skeptic wrote:He'll do better at CHB rather than FB

Re: Rhys
Just let him play ffs
The club are saying he's the strongest bloke at the club.
I have a theory he has relatively small hands which is why he fumbles a bit
He's no buckets
Can we just let him play for a year
Worry about his position later
Maybe CHB where he can use his run

Re: Rhys
He fumbles at key times.
But I think he'll grow into it.
Has Dustin Fletcher attributes.

Re: Rhys
Better on the half back line , but would like to see him being developed
For more of a forward role.
Still a key player for us.

I'm a big Rhys fan but I reckon he is looking less sure every week down back.

Re: Rhys
Yeah, if we had another option I'd move him to the wing and let him run rampant.
But he's doing ok. Maybe if he's struggling early, put him on the ball for a few minutes to get a touch, maybe kick a big goal. Then move him back.
I guess it depends on the opposition too. The Crows next week are a bit light on for key fwds. Will he have a match up? Might be the game to experiment a bit, I dunno.

the Crows do have tom Lynch, whom i would assume would love to kick a bag against us to prove something!
by the way , did he want to move?
Re: Rhys
i think the experience he gains this year will be invaluble for him as a player....
he will play on big experienced forwards, which will also help his forward game.... my guess is we will still try chase a KPD, but Rhys swing from defence to forward as and when the game needs it....

Re: Rhys
Not sure if you guys had noticed the last 2 years but he also fumbles a lot when he plays fwd so moving position wont change that.
Just let the kid play I reckon. If he went fwd and had a bad game everyone would say move him back.
Just leave him alone! I still believe the people who want him fwd are basing it on emotion because they want to see a big blonde rooey replacement.
lets just let rhys play and develop on his own merits.
i reckon hes going alright anyway.
