It's extraordinary.....
That three of the quickest players on our list run so slowly when the opposition have the ball. All three should go back to Sandringham and be replaced with players who have genuine intent.
Can you guess who I'm talking about? Some gutless and pathetic efforts tonight. One in particular should be extremely embarrassed.
Gee, and people on here criticize Clint Jones......................unbelievable.

Stanley, Milera, TDL, NDS?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: It's extraordinary.....
Dal was pretty good at times and has had about 5 really solid games after a terrible start to the year. He is still getting branded for early season form. He played predominately down back tonight and they were actually pretty good under some extreme pressure. ray was also very good. I don't know the stats but Roberton, Ray and Dal all had plenty of the ball. Monty seemed quiet tonight.

Re: It's extraordinary.....
JacksBack, you win with your first three. Honestly, I see no point in playing Milera or TDL. We have other players on our list who can do what they do and on top of that actually chase and tackle and not drop their heads when there's little danger of getting crunched when going for a mark. They make Jason Gram look like Lenny Hayes

Re: It's extraordinary.....
Seriously these guys are still developing- I think we are looking post Milney. Milney will go and we need one of Saad, Milera or TDL to fill that role. I think we have to play them until one stands up. Playing a kid who will eventually be a mid there won't see us develop what's needed for the future.

Re: It's extraordinary.....
I'm sorry, but there's no future in these guys. You don't need ability to chase and tackle, but it doesn't matter how much ability you have if you don't do those two things. Basically it means you're not an AFL player. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. It can mean the difference between winning and losing and we all know it.

Re: It's extraordinary.....
Milera's effort in the last qtr was one of the weakest efforts I have ever seen on a footy field. He was 10 metres clear of his opponent and still ducked his head. Cost us BIG time. He should never play again. TDL is just not up to AFL standard. Play Saunders, Murdoch and Dunnell as small forwards at least they can rotate through the middle and they play with intent

I must be blind but for the life of me I cannot think of one good game Dal has played this year...
I saw him do one good thing last night, but for mine I reckon he is one who is really struggling post Goddard.

The only thing you say that is correct is that you are blind - you might look at the replay - plenty worse than Dal.samuraisaint wrote:I must be blind but for the life of me I cannot think of one good game Dal has played this year...

Milera dropped a mark not ducked his head- it was embarrassing in that he looked incompetent but not shirking anything- there wasn't anyone there on him. Specialist forwards aren't just mids out of position. Milera can play and so can TDL I'm willing to wait and see, they both look more capable of on ball rotations than Saad who seems a set small forward. We can't start all in the forward line but both can develop a lot further with more game time.

He did duck his head and that was the reason he dropped it. Everyone near me said the same. Doesnt make him a bad footballer but I dont think he will make it. Im sure TDL wont make it.

Re: It's extraordinary.....
Why would he drop his head when he wasn't with a player? Lenny screwed up that speccy- if it was Milera people would be looking why he was soft in that contest. they did it with gram- anything he did was an example of his dogging a contest.

No idea is the answer. Probably need to ask him. What does Lennt screwed up that speccy even mean? I do love your loyalty to players ability but some arent up to it. If they were we would be on more than 3 wins.

He went in to take a speccy and seemed to pull out and get a free against him. Looked like he could have taken it but pulled out.

Re: It's extraordinary.....
Stanley was a huge disappointment.
When his opponent led out Stanley trotted behind him seemingly intent on just stopping him from playing on after he marked.
With his speed and long arms he should have focused on closing in on his opponent and lunging to get a fist in to spoil.
Duncan Fletcher has been doing that for twenty years.
Stanley has the physical attributes to do a Fletcher.
Doesn't have the mental attributes.

Rhys Stanley is one of the quickest player in the competition - won a GF sprint a few years ago.
Has had only 4 running bounces this season.

Milera ducking the head and dropping the ball revealed he is clearly not going to make it as an afl player. to have such fear is crippling
