Tyson Goldsack for Luke Ball
I know there have been a million rumours on this topic and people are sick of it but I just want to put this one to bed.
Were we offered Goldsack for Ball?
Can anyone confirm or deny this one with 90%+ confidence?

We where offered every listed Collingwood player that played a good game in 2010. Every time a player played a good game the media would announce they where part of what Collingwood offered to StKilda for Luke Ball.

Re: Tyson Goldsack for Luke Ball
I don't think they offered us a player?
Wasn't it Sharrod to North, and pick 30 to us?
Used to really annoy me when people misreported Wellingham was offered to us, when even he had said he had told the Pies he was only interested in going to North.

The pies offered Wellingham to North for pick 25… which we would have taken but Wellingham refused to be traded.
We asked for Goldsack, but the pies said no.
Greedy bastards had already used their pick on Jolly which would have been a fair swap for Ball, a little draft tampering later, they get him anyway.

Correct. One of the greatest pieces of draft manipulation you will see by Collingwood.

Ball for a Goldsack would have been a classic trade for the Benny Hill humourists amongst us but alas it sounds made up.

I think you find the pies offered us Dick but we had plenty of those type at the time.

that's the more realistic version I heard. and we wanted Nothing less than Pick 20/ 21 to on trade for someone whose club wouldn't release for a higher position than that.

Good idea, I guess we got our last one from Burma so there's bound to be more small forwards in Thailand.plugger66 wrote: Go to thailand.
I'm getting genuinely concerned about our 4 pronged small forward attack... Sure we'll have Schneider, TDL, Milera & Minch next year, but what happens if one of them gets injured?
I guess that's why Watters is talking about being aggressive at trade time...

Re: Tyson Goldsack for Luke Ball
Whatever was offered, we were only given the opportunity to deal with one team because Bail refused to go anywhere else.

Re: Tyson Goldsack for Luke Ball
The offer i heard was we wanted to get Andreas Everitt but the Dogs wanted something better than what we offered which was Collingwoods 25 or what ever it was. The Pies were at one point sending Sharrod Wellingham to the Dogs and we would get Everitt. The Dogs said no to that and then Goldsack was also mentioned in the media but never heard it directly.
Re: Tyson Goldsack for Luke Ball
Who was the player that was recruited in draft for Lovett? Is he still playing?
Re: Tyson Goldsack for Luke Ball
Yeah for some unfathomable reason Lyon had a mancrush on Everitt. We could have taken the drat pick that North would give Collingwood for Wellingham but Ross was only interested in a pick for Everett.gringo wrote:The offer i heard was we wanted to get Andreas Everitt but the Dogs wanted something better than what we offered which was Collingwoods 25 or what ever it was. Still not sure what Goldsack would bring to the table if we got him.
In hindsight pick 30 wouldn't have helped us much. There were still a few decent picks in that draft, but StKilda sure as hell weren't clairevoyant enough to get them.

Re: Tyson Goldsack for Luke Ball
We asked for one of Goldsack, Dick or N Brown....Collingwood said no, but offered Wellingham and Pick 30....we said no.
We then tried to get everitt from Foots, who said they wanted a pick lower than 22. The filth then offered Wellingham to North for Pick 25 and were going to on trade that and pick 30 for Ball.
Foots held firm and said Pick 25 for Everitt was not on.....and the rest is history....

Whatever happens it was a disgrace to lose ball for nothing.
What other club recently has had a similar disaster?

We wanted Nafan Brown but Malthouse said that he was not going to tear the fabric of the club by trading players. Liar.
