apart from the saying goodbye- yesterday had a good vibe. and I will get chocked up at the B&F and odd times in between
But what saddens me is that back to Ball. Baker. Goddard, Gram, and even Raph and lesser extent Goose - is that we never got the chance to say goodbye properly
whilst I realise thats not always going to be possible=- and that playing in finals makes it extremely difficult to orchestrate as it was yesterday- it would still have been nice to have known earlier than post season.
as a fan/ supporter would the chance to say farewell have made the leaving easier---
will the same happen again this year- if as supposed another long time saint does go
Agree Saintbrat. It was really good to be able to farewell the players that in a way become a part of our lives.
Damn good send off yesterday. Loved hearing Milney belt out the song for the last time and seeing Blake's smile during the post match interview. And Kosi - love him.
For me, it was the most "enjoyable" day this year - the sun was out, points didn't matter, all the retirees were playing, a win was certain and then a great celebration at the end to send the boys off (not forgetting Sneids 200th).
We need to do something special for all of our big name retirees, but it is hard to aline the moons for such an event - we were lucky yesterday.

Hey Bratty,
Why don't you send your thoughts on this to the club. I know that they are big on culture and would welcome ideas like this to help them formulate policy on this going forward. It may be too late for those you mentioned, but it could be YOU who ensures that it won't happen again, EVER !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Would have been nicer if the boys had the premiership medallian they so richly deserved
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
Yes I was thinking this about Dal yesterday, would be nice to farewell him properly if he isn't staying with us... I guess that's one of the pitfalls of not staying a one club player.
To me this is an improvement that Watters has brought in. He knows a great footy team is not purely about tactics on the field for the 22 playing but everything that surrounds the club - culture, supporters, memories etc. That makes a club bigger and stronger in every way.

Not just Scott- but the admin.. in general. Ceo, President and departments.
the CLUB-- and that would include- Community/ fan developement, football department, and the Players for being willing and for playing well..
and the roughly 22,000 fans who turned up and used their VOICES and their HANDs and their FEET..
we need to try and celebrate gaols and marks and special acts at EVERY game
no waiting for the Cheersquad- to start it-
as we saw if the whole ground of supporters get involved the noise resounds.

PS
I hope we put some FUN back into the game for Kosi to remember- he was certainly smiling on the boundary during his numerous wanders along to keep warm...

Yeah, I hope Scotty took thirty seconds to reinforce that. "Have a think about why these guys are getting this reception. They gave their heart and soul to this club for years. Work hard and you could get the same result."
