If I choose to watch tomorrow....today....I'll only do so because there a bloke playing who I regard as 1 of the few non-Saints I enjoy watching because he is a prime example of a pure footballer and seemingly has a decent attitude to the game as a sport.
Plus, I reckon he's the key to the whole game. He's the only bloke who Hawthorn have with the footy smarts and decision making ability to break Freo down.
He's 1 of only 2 in the comp who I so regard. Luke Hodge.
The other is Jimmy Bartel. Apart from his finals performances, it was his diversion from his team mates on the siren in '09, when he turned and went to the slumped Sir Leonard Hayes that stamped Bartel as an honourable, and slightly eccentric, combatant. Happened right in front of us, and I still dips me lid.
But, there's only the 2.
I'm with you a TOT , so over this season Tippett, Melbourne tanking, and of course Essendope with sycophant employees of the media still fawning over Jobe Watson as if he will get through this without a black mark against his name.
Everyone of those issues is just plain wrong in a world of right and wrong. Wrong for ethical and moral reasons and it says a lot about the world and the AFL. Sometimes I feel like I'm part of a small group of people who struggle to raise what is right and what is wrong with our values and judgement. Are we so wrong in any of thus?
Sorry to be so reflective but you go back to 09 & q10 to see what has happened in between and it makes me question football.
