It's technical !
Got to do with bandwidths , seven broadcasts there 4 channels on the one , so to show it in HD, all channels would have to show it .
they would then miss out on the revenue the other 3 channels generate .
Foxtel has multiple bandwidths so can show HD whenever they want .

They pay for, they can do what they like with it.
The AFL have to force them to do it, which means we have to wait another 4 years until the next agreement, by which time it will probably be all on the internet and subject to the vagaries of the Telstra copper network, thanks to the dumbing down of the NBN.

The broadcast is in HD...just not transmitted as such cos Sevens primary channel,is only SD
