My 2 cents
( And remember my track record with the senior coach is not great! ). From what I gather Williams was offered the job either just before or just after Watters got sacked. He rejected our first offer, didn't want the job. The club came back with a second offer but started to realise it could be a " Malcom Blight " moment. Richardson dint put his hand up because he had it on pretty good authority that it was Williams.
Now obviously things have started to change and Richardson sees he's in with a good chance. Applies for an interview and who knows.
As stated my history isn't great with the coach and as soon as I post this confirmation the club will come out that Kingsley or Mc.Phee will get it!!

It's a sad state of affairs when the field is narrowed down to those two.

Re: My 2 cents
I listened to a clip on SEN and it sounded like Choco scared the hell out of the panel with a 'stream of consciousness ' at the interview last Friday. Maybe they swapped horses at that point. Choco is meant to be a bit off the wall.
Pity, as I was looking forward to Choco. AR the safer bet I suppose.

My theory
Pelchen wanted Richardson last time, he was good as over the line remember...
Board was sold on Scott last minute and went in that direction.
Pelchen never liked Scott, which is strange given he was on the selection panel.
Pelchen is getting his man, seemingly

That is a wild guess lightly whipped with fantasy, and frosted with prejudice!

Not sure about stream of consciousness. Perhaps it was more his school of Stanislavski method acting that put them on edge?Verdun66 wrote:I listened to a clip on SEN and it sounded like Choco scared the hell out of the panel with a 'stream of consciousness ' at the interview last Friday. I thought last time around it was down to Watters and Hinkley and Watters got the job, i thought Richardson came 3rd in that 3 horse raceSainterK wrote:Meh, can and didsatchmo wrote:That's not a theory.SainterK wrote:My theory

Tony, I know the finances aren't great at Seaford, but it saddens me that you have been forced to chuck in your loose change to help pay for the new coach

My theory is that ever since BJ left that you have had it in for Pelchen no matter what he does/says.
Not long back you had it that Pelchen was giving the job to his mate Chocco, and now Richo is his man.
Maybe, just maybe Pelchen and the panel are actually taking a reasoned and un-emotional football decision, just like was done with BJ?
Maybe, just maybe Watters impressed all, but in the end did not work out. Just as with draft picks, there is no certainly in picking the the right coach.

Surely Choco - a premiership coach with a strong record of success - was the safer bet. Perhaps we couldn't afford him, or, more alarmingly, the powers that be want a puppet in there who will take direction no questions asked.
If it's the latter we'll know where to look when it goes pearshaped.

Re: My 2 cents
It was a tweet from SEN News with a link. Was an interview on the Run Home with David King and then Jon Ralph. I have twitter on my I-pad and am now on the main computer. Not sure how to get it across to be honest! Seeing David King is always paying out on us, he was extremely positive about the appointment, and about Richardson's credentials.defacto wrote:what program was it?Verdun66 wrote:I listened to a clip on SEN and it sounded like Choco scared the hell out of the panel with a 'stream of consciousness ' at the interview last Friday. As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: My 2 cents
Who knows? Am sure the story will eventually emerge. I was keen on Choco, and don't know much about AR. But I have understood AR is highly regarded, and the word was he refused to be interviewed. So he never came into calculations. Choco is clearly a bit unorthodox, and maybe that scared them off. Or he was always Plan B, and they persuaded AR on board. We are only guessing.bigcarl wrote:Verdun66 wrote:I listened to a clip on SEN and it sounded like Choco scared the hell out of the panel with a 'stream of consciousness ' at the interview last Friday. Think AR will be fine. My view only. Based on all I read about him, and the vast experience he now has at 5 different clubs. Can't be bad....
