All three draftees were injured this year...
Interesting?
Billings.... Knee
Dunstan.... Leg
Acres... Shoulder
I think all three can play, and as long as their bodies are ok (and at 18 young bodies repair easily) they will be astute selections.
IMO they have all gone later than they could have due to injury and will turn out to be bargains like Judd/Rich/Selwood who slipped stupidly... So will Scharenburg
About as good a draft as we could have hoped

Patton may have had a good junior career BUT his AFL CAREER has been a disaster due to constant knee issues

i agree on Patton, he got tackled to the ground, hardly injury prone...
To label him a disaster is like saying Roo was a disaster because of his late start in 2001

absolutely pumped from this draft
patton will be feeling the pressure. GWS obviously are stoking up in talls as insurance

Patton's injury was the best thing that could've happened for GWS - discovered an potential legend in Cameron. Hard to see Patton topping him, but if he does they have a trade prospect any other club would move an arm and a leg for.

And if you knew anything about footy...
You'd understand that judging a KPP at 20 is silly.... Especially one who's had a reco?!

I'll remind you of that statement when they get rid of him..BigMart wrote:And if you knew anything about footy...

As for knowing about footy, you aren't someone anyone would to turn to for advice, especially as you hate the club with a passion.

Had knee tendonitis then looked fantastic in the few games he played in 2012. Then did an ACL in a collision in round 3 this year.
By god people like to make early over the top calls on kids.
Re: All three draftees were injured this year...
How did draft day for st.kilda become a pissing contest about Jonathan Patton? for what it's worth - Boyd, Aish, the berg all have had significant injuries this year.

I'm not sure GWS agree, hence they have drafted more than enough assurance.lloyd21 wrote:Patton is going to be a gun

Reading this thread just confirms to me that barring some plague or virus - gws are going to be unbeatable in 3 or 4 years.
They have been gifted 4 years of the best talent.
Theyd have to be very incompetent to stuff that up.

My skepticism is that with that much talent where are they going to put them all? They can't all play at once.magnifisaint wrote:Just remember that talent alone does not guarantee successCon Gorozidis wrote:Reading this thread just confirms to me that barring some plague or virus - gws are going to be unbeatable in 3 or 4 years.

There has been a bit of an exodus in talent from GWS due to a multitude of reasons. This hasn't really happened with Gold Coast despite both clubs being in similar positions. My assumption is Gold Coast benefited from recruiting a higher quality players and coaches. I'd much rather see Gary Ablett and Guy McKenna in the club rooms than Sheeds and Scully.
For the good of the game I hope GWS hasn't shot themselves in the foot
