Young forwards
We've had a group of young forwards touted as having great potential but none seem to be having an Impact
Lee, Markworth, White, Sipposs
Is it opportunity, consistency, health? Not sure why they haven't had any impact.....yet
I know it's early days but it'interesting that our young mids are impacting pretty early

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
Re: Young forwards
White was drafted with the knowledge that he'd take a little longer to develop but it would be worth the wait. From reports, he is where we expected him to be at this stage.
Markworth was hit by serious injury and inevitably stalled. Only a matter of time before he gets his debut, and hopefully will cement a spot in the team from then on.
Lee has perhaps been slightly disappointing given his age. But he too has suffered some injuries. He would be hoping to find some touch at Sandy and be in the side within the next month.

Re: Young forwards
Harsh on White - as he was drafted as a long-term prospect.
Also harsh on Markworth who suffered a serious injury last year - when he was expected to break out and be given a chance to cement his spot in the team.
I think Lee can offer more than Maister - definitely a better kick on goal.
Agree on Siposs, surely he is on his last chance.

Re: Young forwards
I think Markworth is a midfield type who likes to kick goals.
Spencer still only 19 and overcoming a troublesome wrist. Promising.
Siposs - but of a smoky Draft pick who dominated a suburban comp. Still unclear what position he would or could play at AFL level.
Lee - chronic shoulders, unfit, not conditioned, questionable attitude. Needs to get a wriggle on. A real worry at present. Does have some talent.

Dunno if OP was being harsh on anyone .True Blue Sainter wrote:Harsh on White - as he was drafted as a long-term prospect.

He was just pointing out that none of these guys have had an impact yet this year (fact) and then asked why.
It was then explained why (youth and some serious injuries).
Siposs probably the least promising. Would have been a gun 20 years ago but im not sure how he will survive in today's footy.

Re: Young forwards
White injured a hand
Lee injured shoulders
Markworth injured knee
Siposs injured confidence-Watters backline role.
All show promise not all will make it but Lee has averaged a couple of goals a game in his first AFL season and should at least be a more serviceable version of Maister with a lot more potential. markworth sounds like he was nearly playing seniors before the knee and is straight back to where he was before.
