I'm not saying Longer was best on ground, but for the first time in(oh forget it, I'm too excited to work out when) we dominated hit-outs and as a result centre clearances and when you dominate centre clearances the whole game is easier.
As a result:
* Our forward line looked amazing - because we won the clearances we actually had time to size up and honour leads.
* Our backline looked strong - Probably the same amount of goals per entry as other weeks.
* Our defensive pressure was up - instead of chasing players at every stoppage we were having the ball hit to us; so when the time came that we lost the hit-out or missed getting the ball we had the energy to lay a tackle and put pressure on.
Whilst I say I guess Ross learnt a lesson today I really hope he didn't
.As an aside, we have been crying out for 3 tall forwards for so long, thank god it work when we finally had it.
