afl legends question

Post: # 1485211Post terry smith rules »

not sure if this has been discussed before ... but

went to the MCG sports museum on Saturday (it is fantastic)

but wandering around the AFL legends section I wondered why Plugger is not a legend yet, surely if Coventry, Coleman are then he should be

is it just too soon since he stopped playing

Should be.
As far as I'm aware the great Trevor Barker isn't even in the Hall of Fame.
Needs to be fixed.

I think he will be waiting a while. There can only be one for every 10 Hall of famers. They couldnt even have one last year.

The issue with the hall of fame as I see it , is that because it has only been existence for a short time (in the overall history of the game) , they are never going to catch up with the older players

In other words many great players from the past will simply miss out as they only induct a few each year, so for instance how does Kouta get in, but no Mark Mclure (if you take the carlton as an example). Answer came from the wrong era

I have the feeling- would need to check but
Legends are restricted to 1 to ??? of hall of Fame members- I think 1 : 25 but don't quote me

so you need 25 members for every legend.

Plugger will get there.
Just a question of when.
