Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
I just posted a link on the other thread.
Thought he started showing some good signs during year. Hopefully he'll continue the upward trend from here.

2016 is long enough. Needs to be a solid B grader in 2015 to warrant the extension

Great stuff.
I love the way the club has gone about it with the campaign. The stability is very uplifting for supporters, sponsors and the team.

Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
Seb showed some glimpses of real poise this year. He seems to be one of those players who have space and time even in heavy traffic but he hasn't really been able to hurt the oppo much yet. Would love to see him firing out handballs ala Sam Mitchell to open up the game. I'm hoping next year he might start to feel he belongs and get the confidence going to become more of a playmaker.

I hope he makes it but he has far from made it Stinger. Needs to improve and by a fair way to say he has made it.

+ 1
Easily run away from and his opponent regularly freewheels into forward 50..no need to wonder why their forward half is always open for them to waltz into

Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
I'm with you here Plugger. My 'yardstick' is our 2009 GF team, in my view we had 3 or 4 players who wern't quite good enough. I doubt Seb Ross would be good enough to get into a 'premership 22'. Doubt he's get a game with either Sydney or Hawthorn this weekend. But I hope he improves.plugger66 wrote:stinger wrote:congratulations young fella....i knew you would make it...you have class written all over you...best set of hands at the club now.....

Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
Huge pre season required. Needs to take a leaf from his cousins book who lacked a tank early in his career. Got ridiculously fit boxing and became the payer he is today. That is the challenge for Ross as he can win the ball but needs to get to more contests
Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
Absolutely. I like the kid's potential but he's got an enormous amount of work to do if he's going to be AFL quality. He was consistently getting 15-20 touches this year, given his lack of a specific weapon (similar to Harvs or Lenny) he needs to get it 25-30 times to be really damaging.older saint wrote:Huge pre season required. Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
this is the type of player that if we are to rise he needs to extract that last 20% out of himself to really give us a lift - I think he has the talent and agree its all in the tank for this kid.....get to more and he becomes a problem for opposition. I hope Ross is really challenged this off season.

Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
Congrats to Seb, as others have said he does show promise.
Don't really have him in my top 25 at this stage, but Jobe took a while to hit his straps, so another 2 years will give him a chance to make it.
Where is the Billings deal?

Nee!

i'm not.......he made the cut...has a contract for the next two years and has already racked up more than 25 games......in my view he has arrived.....gets a game with the wooden spooners .....he doesn't have to worry about the swine or the dorks.......that's all he has to do at this stage...and he has the quickest and best hands at the club...my view.....others can form their own.....Toy Saint wrote:I'm with you here Plugger. I think he's tracking at about what you would expect. He's an inside mid and with out Lenny he gets a chance to take it to the next level. I think he's a quiet achiever and one day we will wake up one day and realise he's getting 30 possessions a game a bit like Joey did. Doesn't seem to be a burst from the blocks type more your build on the base type. I could see him being a bit like Armo in a year or two.
Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
maybe....but he's a better kick and doesn't waste a possession....gringo wrote:stinger wrote:i'm not.......he made the cut...has a contract for the next two years and has already racked up more than 25 games......in my view he has arrived.....gets a game with the wooden spooners .....he doesn't have to worry about the swine or the dorks.......that's all he has to do at this stage...and he has the quickest and best hands at the club...my view.....others can form their own.....Toy Saint wrote:I'm with you here Plugger. Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
Than Armitage? His disposal efficiency is well behind Armo… Seb wastes around a third of his possessions at the moment.stinger wrote:maybe....but he's a better kick and doesn't waste a possession....

Does that mean Siposs made it 2 years ago and unmade this year? Of course he hasn't made it. Hope he does but very silly to think he has yet.
Re: Seb Ross re-signs 2016
Long way to go for this kid. Kicking efficiency is a real issue - Armitage miles ahead of him in all aspects particularly kicking.
