They're not here for a game, they're here for a career and if they're ready to go, they'll play.

From what I've seen we are adopting the Port model of getting as many senior games into the high draft picks as possible. It's like a production line - you want to keep progressing our quality players from 25, to 50, to 100 games asap as you feed in a new batch of youngsters at the bottom so you have a nice stagger. We will be having a LOT of experience disappear in the next couple of years and we need to get Dunny, Billings, Acres etc up to the 100 game mark asap to have some degree of competitiveness. We've got some stop gap players like Weller, Savage, Delaney to fill some of those gaps. But Richo will want the quality kids directly under his wing in the firsts wherever possible.

Yeah with the old blokes looking at their last couple of seasons it's also important the few guys in our middle tier continue to have an impact - Geary, Armo, Steven, Roberton, Delaney, etc.

Ross, Weller & Curran are going to be important as to where we sit in terms of midfield. Non are going to threaten the Brownlow but you'd hope for some significant improvement.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
