I'll get abused on here but we are better with Geary out of the side. We stunk against the Pies and Blues with Geary as our loose man in defence.

Come on Con we just got absolutely smashed especially from the backline. Heart would have made a massive difference to us.

Agreed. So much to like. His willingness in the contest, to win his own ball is awesome. Big kudos to the recruitment team.

Agree 100% really like watching this young kid play. I've taken taken to calling him 'Hunchy' short for hunchback, as he's got a quirky running style where he hunches his melon :-) he's a ripper. Goes into contests so hard, and almost tries too hard if he fumbles!! Looks like he reads it well in the air judging by so good contested marks and obviously has pace to burn.

Actually doesn't look that Small on the tele, looks mega muscly in the legs, and a really nice height for a runnning wingman. Much to like about him, hopefully he can learn to find plenty of the ball, like a Farren Ray, rack up 20+ regularly. Bright future IMO

DMac is fast, chased down Cripps with some genuine pace.

[*]Yep, DMac was a massive highlight of the game. Almost chased an eagle down from a 20odd meter gap. Many clean disposals and some really good contested marks.

The hunched over style and the number 36 reminded me a bit of banger!

A bit more composure with his disposal , but that will come with more experience. Agree he is a keeper.

I have really high hopes for DMac, he's been compared to so many great players but the one that stands out for me is Goddard, if he could be anywhere near as good we would have scored a huge bargain.

The best thing for mine was early in the last quarter when he went back with the flight to stop an uncontested mark on their forward 50. Kid's got guts, pace and smarts. Will be a beauty!!

Agree with all of the above.

Was a bit skeptical in his first game but he has shown to be a keeper. Same with Acres. With these two in the side it will be harder for Ray and Wright to get back into the seniors.

There's some volcanoes on his neck that's for sure. Still a teenager! Great upside,

Yes he really looks like he has a number of tricks in his footy kit bag.

Someone should give him the hint to take up swimming in chlorinated swimming pools.....excellent in getting rid of the acne. The chlorine really dries up the skin. You very rarely see a competitive swimmer with pimples, but most have them have been immersed in the chlorine since about the age of 5 years.

I can remember once at a swimming coaching session run by "Madame Butterfly" after she retired from swimming, saying how at 28 she started to get pimples, never had them as a teenager, so she started getting back in the pool a couple of times a week to clear up the little eruptions.

McKenzie is looking very exciting for sure.

Back off topic, what happened to Nathan Wright? When he started I felt the same way about him as I do for McKenzie right now… lightning fast, aggressive, footy smarts… Now he can't get a game in a struggling side missing Geary, Ray & Gilbert.

Yes he looked very good but hasn't come on at all. His disposal is pretty much terrible and he isn't getting the ball as much as his first year. Very disappointing.

Nate Wright is now officially a worry imo.
Not sure someone who kicks like that can survive in AFL level in this day and age.
They will try to make him a tagger I guess but can you survive as a specialist tagger these days?

Maybe all the injuries Wright has suffered, may have dented his confidence to a degree. He's had to come back from some harsh injuries.

Seeing so much Goddard in D Mac. That gutsy grab, the fact that he is being given roles as a tagger this early on too. The sky is the limit with this kid. Absolutely stoked.
