Re: Grand Final
Yes. We will still have to put up with ads during the quarters but better than watching on Channel 7.

Re: Grand Final
I don't get why 7 wouldn't let Foxtel show the Grand Final even with 7's ads. At least the picture would be better.kosifantutti wrote:It's not on Foxtel.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Well the fact they lose about 40% of viewers to them would be a fair reason. I suppose the question is why did they agree to show the channel 7 games in the first place.

Why did 7 agree to show their games on Foxtel in the first place when rating show about 30 to 40% at least watch Foxtel instead of 7. I suppose they paid a little less because of it but they still paid a huge amount.

Re: Grand Final
Where's the evidence for that? Foxtel loses millions on the coverage of AFL and that will only increase with the next agreement. But they need to. It's a loss leader. Few would buy a Foxtel subscription, especially now with Netflix, Stan et al, if it was not for sport, especially AFL.ripplug66 wrote:...when rating show about 30 to 40% at least watch Foxtel instead of 7...

Go to the TV ratings and it works out to be about that. In the finals about 600 have watched 7 and around 300 have watched Foxtel. Similar percentages in the regular season but just lower figures. Cant give you last Friday figures but the week before 676 watched 7 and 325 watched Fox.
