Extra Pick.
If the AFL go ahead with the idea of an extra pick for the clubs that have not been in the finals for a while, starting with Pick 19 for Melbourne, we would end up with Pick 22. Come on, do it!

Re: Extra Pick.
i think its a fair system and they are all about equalisation. but the big question remains for me is can these picks be traded because i feel the academy clubs will just be able to further exploit the loopholes in the current system.

Re: Extra Pick.
I reckon the bottom 4-6 teams (maybe going by some combination of the last time they were in the finals/won a premiership, etc) should get two picks before the rest get a pick.
Example - Say 4 sides are pronounced no good this year
Pick- Club
1-18
2-17
3-16
4-15
5-18
6-17
7-16
8-15
and then revert back to normal
9-14
10-13
11-12
12-11
13-10
etc...

Re: Extra Pick.
i think everyone should get their first round pick
then have a round 2A where the bottom 10 get a pick
then have normal round 2 from there on
so last would get 1, 19, 29
4th last would get 4, 22, 32
9th would get 10, 28, 38
premiers would get 18, miss out on 2A, 46

No but they don't have academies for certain teams only or father and son, etc.saintspremiers wrote:Shouldn't be any PP ever again

Essendon and Freo wouldn't get any earlier picks if the previous finals criteria is applied (especially freo).
