Sick of Terry Wallace
Am I the only one sick of Terry Wallace suggesting Chris Grant should have got the Brownlow instead of Robert Harvey.
He is now trying to compare Grant's hit with that of Sloan.
Big difference Rory Sloan was airborne before the mark and the ball was in front of the players face.
In Grant's case the ball had been dropped below the opponent Nick Holland's waist, yes below the waist and Grant delivered a front on, deliberate, coat hanger to the face.
What a fraud.
Holland was best on field up to that point of time, but with Holland concussed Grant took over the game.
The umpires gave Grant 3 votes.
Even if Grant remains eligible for the Brownlow he should not be entitled to those 3 votes.
Grant then does not win a Brownlow.
Could it be that Wallace instructed Grant to K.O. Holland and feels guilty for Grant not getting a Brownlow.

Re: Sick of Terry Wallace
With all these machinations every year about certain players possibly not being eligible for the brownlow medal because of a possible suspension it's about time the afl just bit the bullet and made suspended players eligible.
If players are out for a week or three they cannot vote in those games. Maybe also don't give the player any votes in the game he gets reported in (as he would thereby not cover the fairest aspect in that particular game). Then we wouldn't have any of this BS about the favourites getting lenient slaps on the wrist from the tribunal.

Re: Sick of Terry Wallace
I've got no particular problem with Terrry Wallace.
And Grant was an excellent footballer, deserving of a Brownlow.
The Brownlow is for the fairest and best, so I object to opening it up to players who have been suspended.
If Grant committed a dirty act, then he deserves to be penalised.
It's odd that he got Brownlow votes in that match, 'cause the umpires shouldn't have given him any.
If Grant wasn't reported on the day by the umpires, but was sighted in the media 'trial by video', then I sympathise with Wallace. If we assume the umpires witnessed the incident but deemed in not reportable, I'd be inclined to agree with the umpires.

Re: Sick of Terry Wallace
It was Ian Collins that had him reported. It was also suggested that he received votes in subsequent games as some kind of umpires protest. Not sure if that is true, but you could certainly be the best player on the ground AND belt someone.
*Allegedly.

Are you only sick of him now? I find him hard to take at the best of times. If I hear that rasping voice bagging the saints one more time, "I think I'll spew".
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

When i was watching Wallace Whine last night, the missus walked into the room, and said that it was his whiny voice that she detested most about him.
You would have to agree,
Sheahen went on in a similar manner on 360.
What the arsewipes seem to forget that the brownlow, is awarded to the FAIREST and best player in the competition each year.

Re: Sick of Terry Wallace
I'm still amazed at how much weight football fans put on the result of an award decided by people whose judgement they rant, rave and rage about all season.
Would rather more of an event be made over the AFLPA MVP or coaches award. The Brownlow is essentially for the most polite midfielder who visually stands out.

Assuming he played in defence where Neitz kicked 7 for the Dees.

Still waiting for Terry's balls to drop.

Re: Sick of Terry Wallace
Considering Jobs Watson still has his 2012 Brownlow, there is no issue with Terry being cheeky here, on Grants' behalf.
Robert Harvey will not lose his Brownlow for 97, so I don't see the fuss here.

USELESS FACT: The WADA case against Essendon (in Sydney as well) is exactly 10 years to the day that Australia qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Those adds Terry does for inner health really grate and annoy me.
- "Have you had your Inner Health Plus today?"
Not to mention that "Fatal Real estate traps exposed" add he does with his whiney "Go on - call me".

Re: Sick of Terry Wallace
Harvey won all the other awards in 1997. Would have been a crime if he'd lost the Brownlow.
