Nathan freeman has been withdrawn from the VFL match. Haven't heard whether it's due to injury or not yet

Might be to ensure he is cherry ripe for his AFL debut in 5 days

Wet, miserable conditions like today is prime territory for soft tissue strain

It's a knife edge situation without having the reason confirmed. Could be amazing news or horrible.

We will need at least 1 emergency ready to go for friday, we might see a few players pulled at half time.

I hope it's for a possible debut, although AR indicated he won't play seniors this year.

For enough... I've been out and about until about lunch and it was shaping up to be an ugly day

Would be fantastic news if that was the reason.

Back spasms apparently.

At least it's not his hammies.

I think we should all chill about Freeman's prospects of playing AFL.

He was out of footy a long time and needs a season in the two's and a full pre season before he should be considered IMO.

Absolutely, we should chill and not put so much hope into him.

If he comes along he will be another Jack Newnes type with possibly more inside grunt. When I saw him at Vic park a few weeks ago, he looked good - has a lot of tools - but he didn't look like he was clearly a cut above the VFL, for understandable reasons.

We just need to set the bar for him at the correct level. He is not a Dangerfield or a Dal Santo or a Judd. He will, if he gets a decent run of it from here, be a very good player in 3 years time. I really think Newnes is a good comparison.

There is a rumour floating around that he may play this week

But very big grain of salt, especially if the back spasm stuff is true.

this too is all if's and maybe's and Next year
Realistically he will need several more weeks of exceptional form but suddenly the prize of his AFL debut is within reach.

St Kilda football boss Jamie Cox said told the Herald Sun the club was putting no limits on his selection prospects this year.

“He is playing good VFL footy which is just what we wanted. Freezer needed to get that continuity into his football.

He deleted the tweet it seems. From his profile he seems more like an optimistic fan rather than an ITK but who knows.

Freeman was withdrawn on Sunday because of back soreness.
