Do the players fear?

Post: # 1723150Post Scollop »

Do they fear the coach?

Do they fear that they'll be dropped?

You have guys like Billings and Gresham who continue to get a game week after week when they deserve to be dropped and I just don't get it. If it's good enough for Armo to be dropped, then bloody well pull the trigger on Billings and Gresh Richo.

Dunstan and Acres went through it all last year and the year before and Billings was dropped a few times in the last couple of years, but this year he seems to just get a game no matter how terrible he plays.

I saw Seb Ross on his heals when the ball was kicked in from full back and although he was the only player that could have contested the mark, he made absolutely no attempt to even put any body contact on the Hawthorn player who took the mark uncontested and the Hawks got another opportunity i50. Doesn't he fear that he'll be dropped if he wants to play bruise free football?

Geez Billings needs to be tried in defence. He's not scoring goals regularly, sees posts and goes wide even on the run nowadays. At least in defence he might help with the set up and run of mids to the forwards. He needs to get his mojo back.

Accountability doesn't seem high priority for the list.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

but Richo said Armo was brought back too early.

He should admit that others are kept in too long.

Richo has stifled Acres this year by insisting he play as a 3rd tall in the forward line and as a back up ruckman.

The kid’s a natural centreman , so put him in there a let him play!!

If you want a 3rd tall or another ruckman f****** play one, I’d love to see Marshall and or Battle getting a game

Agreed. Playing him further up the field - on a half back flank or across the centreline - solves at least two problems: it gets Billings further away from goal where he has no confidence and it gives us someone who can execute a kick coming out of defence or kicking into the forward line.

Throw it on the list of obvious coaching changes that should but won't happen.

So we let Billings who has elite foot skills, to get away with poor kicking for goal by shifting him to a position where he avoids it?

How about shifting him to Sandringham until he kicks straight for goal, Membrey can join him.

If I was Richo I would be saying that if there is a Saints player closer to goal with no one else within 15 metres and you ignore him and ping for goal for a miss, then you miss next week. This means you, Gresham and Billings.

Bloody infuriating.

Soft

Why do 5 saints players need to wear long sleeves in april. Did mummy tell them it will be cold down in tassie. The team looked soft. Hawthorn had no players in long sleeves.

And can someone give them a gift voucher for studs. Night time in april the ground will be slippery ffs.

I'm just watching the replay of the match and it's nearly time on in the 3rd quarter. Jarman Impey tries to take a speccy over everyone and Carlisle is paid the free. This is at a critical time when. the game is up for grabs, Saints have the momentum and we have been clawing our way back with score Hawks 39 and the Saints on 38.

Jake kicks it 50m up the line to Seb Ross who is unmarked and standing outside 50 on the back flank. Seb has been guarding space and basically run free most of the night, so it wasn't a bad kick and Seb had time and had no one in front of him to take a run up and contest the mark. A mid size Hawk took the mark, while Seb watched and watched and watched. No talking, no attempt to look around, no attempt to win the footy. How do you get an uncontested Hawthorn mark from a loopy long kick out from full back from a St Kilda player? WTF Seb?! All he wanted was to receive it all night.

Hawks passed it around with 2 leads and Jack Gunston kicked the goal. We didn't get close after that.

Our players just are not very smart - all running to the same spot - not making space for each other - 3 up flying for a spoil with no one down - infuriating beyond belief

We have individual talent to burn there but the creativity and risk taking is nowhere to be seen - just lacklustre static predictable ball movement - could probably count on one hand the amount of times some one ran past for a handball after we took a mark to get the ball moving forward quickly

If I seriously see another backward 40m kick I am liable to break my hand

This group needs a big fat angry blistering rocket up them

Wake up St Kilda ffs!!!!

The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
