3 Goals from 40 forward entries
The numbers speak for themselves.
The endeavour is certainly there, but what can we do about the application?

Been a problem for at least 2 years, the fact there’s been no improvement in this area is a big reason Richo must go.

The opposition must just laugh....all you have to do is drop a couple of spares back, even when the Saints win the clearance, they just hand it back to you in your half back line and you rebound from there.
Nee!

Re: 3 Goals from 40 forward entries
I’d have moved Carlisle forward earlier in the season when Bruce fell over. The forward line lacks the sort of structure, physical presence and leadership a player like that provides.
It also encourages quick movement in as they’ll usually bring it to ground if they don’t mark it.
At the moment we have Membrey, a good medium forward and usually reliable kick, and beginners such as Battle and Marshall. They could both be very good, but it’s esrly days and you can’t expect them to dominate now.

GWS 13.8, Saints: 8.13. If we had kicked as accurately as they had, we might have won, eh. Dixon is one of those who should be cut, as there has been no improvement- heck, Skunk actually was worse at the start of 2018, and only found his mojo in Perth against the Wet Toast! Whatever KPIs they use to judge Dixon, accuracy is up there at the top, and it's a MASSIVE FAIL. Cut him and don't let him back in

Re: 3 Goals from 40 forward entries
Our forwardline has been dysfunctional all year in part due to not being able to employ a constant stable structure - Bruce injured, Paddy injured, Long & Minchington injured, Battle & Marshall inexperienced -
of course throw in ineffective shooting for goal and you have what's called a trainwreck.
A stable set up should never be underestimated

We are headed to becoming a “ good ordinary side “ nothing more than that. The stats speak for themselves on THAT

Unfortunately losing Roberton our only other experienced intercept backline mark put the Carlisle forward option to bedbigcarl wrote: ↑Sun 29 Jul 2018 5:43pm I’d have moved Carlisle forward earlier in the season when Bruce fell over. Re: 3 Goals from 40 forward entries
I think if the coach had any cahoonies, he’d have played Carlisle up forward and backed Goddard and Austin in to do the job...
This would have been the preferable option to rushing the likes of Paddy and McCartin straight back in from injury.
Like when GT played a young Sam Fisher and Matty Ferguson following injuries to Hudghton and Penny.
Neither were disgraced and one went on to have a superb career.
