Would you do this?

Post: # 1761816Post older saint »

If port offered 6 & 10 for 4 & 39

4= 2034
39 = 446
total 2480

6= 1751
10 =1359

Total =3110

difference 690 around pick 28.

I know its a deep draft but there seems to be a distinct top 4 so would probably say no as we are crying out for silk. If it was done i think it send a message they are looking at the King Boys.

With live picks something like this could happen draft night if one of the SA kids were at 4 and then Port may be desperate enough to make 39 65??

No.

Why would you want to improve port's playing list.

2 x top 10 picks is very tempting. Port want Rankine or Luckusious it seems. Would be funny if the Suns took both.

Could happen if they are desperate on trade night - the joys of live trading

Depends who is available at pick 4.

Two picks in the top ten is pretty tempting.

I absolutely would.

We're not one player away. We're still building our list.

If we can get two top tenners, that would unbelievable.

Agreed. The top 20 runs very deep. We could snag 2 x gun mids. Add them to Clark and Coffield. Unbelievable. Thats 4 x top 10 picks.

who knows. if the hype is to believed (it rarely is) then no way trade a top four. if it's a normal draft then yes. the best player last year went six.
caveat emptor - we only got two decent players (but in no way future stars) at 7 and 8.
against that we got a shocker with our last number one, and an okay player at number 3. our only star from a top ten pick since goddard was traded for pick 5.
so again i'm back at who knows?

carlisle was traded for pick 5. our only clear win against the druggies, especially given what we did with the steak knives.

We had 7 & 8 last year and would not say with any certainty that we nailed a gun. So no from me. We desperately need a quality mid.

I don't agree with that assessment one iota.

You are right with picks 7 & 8 but give them a chance, they are still kids and it is easier to shine in a good team which helps De Gooey and Higgins. it is a bit harsh on Cam Rayner and Andrew Brayshaw when there teams aren't really helping them out a lot.

I like to wait about 4 - 5 years before I pass judgement.

Chris Judd is worth more to us than Ashleigh Sampi and James Bartel

not one iota?
stephenson the best?
clarke and coffield not near him?
paddy a shocker for a number one?
billings an okay player?
calisle our only star from a top ten pick?

not one of them? i reckon they're all fair calls. and i still have no idea if i'd do the hypothetical trade given our history either way.

A) I think hunter will be a very good player has poise and does not seem rushed

B) I would trade 4 for the 6 ,10 and 11 or next years first round
See how desperate they are on draft night

I would do it in a heartbeat. We could very well get the player we are after at pick 6 and then a big upgrade with our second pick. Port may be desperate and offer it up on trade night. Hold tight till then

Plus he has a frame that will bulk up nicely.
