Steele injury
Dislocated his knee at training today and awaiting scan results to determine time out. Best case scenario would be 3 weeks... This year is really starting to piss me off
Soo, who comes in for him and also, who else could we deploy as a run-with/tagging type player?

Re: Steele injury
he's our most reliable and hardest working player, the only way to replace him is to sneak an extra 19th guy on the ground,
that's how much work he does.
But I would like White in for sure, and maybe bring in Rice as well, (been playing fwd pocket-HFF for Zebs
according to one poster on here)

Re: Steele injury
Ahhh no - Dunstan has nowhere near the aerobic capacity of Steele. Steele is our only two-way runner.

Re: Steele injury
Massive loss! Dunstan is no replacement for him. Time to put your hand up Blake Acres.

Stick 8cres in the guts for the next 3 weeks and see what happens (even if we have to move Ross elsewhere).Linton Lodger wrote: ↑Thu 13 Jun 2019 5:00pm Massive loss! Dunstan is no replacement for him. Time to put your hand up Blake Acres.
Come on Richo. You know it makes sense.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Acres is too lazy

Re: Steele injury
One of those years. On a plus if you are going to get hurt now is the year to do it.
We have no one to replace him which hurts the most. Maybe Hind will finally get a game due to some position shuffling

Re: Steele injury
Conspiracy. Some people may want Richo gone. I think he can coach his way out of this. We are due for a win, oh sorry, two more losses before averages kick in.

Re: Steele injury
What an opportunity for someone to step up and for the coach to help develop our next team of contenders
Will Cho revert to conservative 'cover your backside' decisions or will he give resposibility to Clark or to Blake or to any of our other less experienced players?
Not saying a guy who has only played 22 games of footy would have filled in for Jack Steele, but Benny Long may have better suited the hot and humid conditions in Townville seeing's though he is originally from Northern Territory. Granted Ben was poor 5-6 weeks ago, but I reckon he wasn't in our worse players last 2 games. Servicebale against Port and was good against Carlton up until he was mauled by them for the hit on Casboult

Re: Steele injury
I think Benny has been given a great run, because on form he hasnt earned his spot. I suspect he got a reprieve for the indigenous round and dont think he should get another reprieve because its in Townsville thats close to the NT. Weather shouldnt be a factor at a predicted 26 in winter. He has to get a kick or selection integrity is compromised. Also think Playing Parker, Young and Long hasnt worked as all are low possession mercurial types. Think he needs to go back to Sandy and get a heap of it.Scollop wrote: ↑Fri 14 Jun 2019 1:03amWhat an opportunity for someone to step up and for the coach to help develop our next team of contenders

Re: Steele injury
Regarding Dunstan, I meant it as ‘adequately’.
I should have made my sarcasm a little more clear and put it in quotation marks when I wrote it.
But I do hope Acres can get some time in the middle.

Re: Steele injury
It just shows what a joke our coach is, why play Armo he’s as slow as treacle and shouldn’t even be on an AFL list.
Ross should do the tagging, Acres, Gresham and Clark should rotate through the middle.
