Well done Hanners
Despite the horror loss, well done Dan. Great effort to get 27 touches first game back. He will only get better. It has to be mentioned.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Got a lot of it but wasn’t very damaging, and missed an absolute sitter.
Hopefully keeps getting better and earns that $800k

Re: Well done Hanners
I thought it was a good game first up. Think how JoM went in the seniors last year - now he's getting 30 plus disposals often. Even when Goddard moved to the bombers, he got only 14 disposals in the first game. But he played all games and ended up winning their b&f.
All in all, it was an encouraging outing for Hanneberry and he didn't look hampered. I think he will be the captain next year.

I thought he played well. Kept putting it to other players' advantage - although the other players didn't always make it look that way! There was a moment when he swapped with Gresh to go inside and I thought we might have found a nice combination. We hadn't, obviously!

Works out to about $3,000 per possession!

It is early but I'm still confident will have a good 5 years at the Saints. Thank god we got him after yesterday's performance. He shut a few people up.

Re: Well done Hanners
Who has he shut up? Not me that's for sure . His effort was ok but butchered the ball a lot, hardly a "thank god we got him" game .At 800k per year he needs to be a a lot better than what he showed yesterday IMOtedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sun 23 Jun 2019 3:29pm It is early but I'm still confident will have a good 5 years at the Saints. Pleased he got through the match. Still plenty of rust scale to be stripped off but will be e genuine gun fr us in the midfield. Got plenty of the ball when his team mates couldn't. Showed why we went after him, a slither if kight in a gloomy afternoon.

Was brought in to push one of Ross, Armo or Dunstan our. Looks better than all of them.
Hopefully injuries were the reason that all 4 + Newnes played together

Re: Well done Hanners
Was really good in the first half before understandably running out of steam.
He’s got a long way to go to be value for money but was a pretty decent debut.
Let’s judge after 3 years not one match.

Re: Well done Hanners
I actually thought that he played well for his first game back... especially that 1st quarter.
IMO he looked a cut above every other midfielder in his ability at the contest.... really looking forward to seeing more.
However, as long as we keep playing Newnes and co... none of that will matter anyway.

Good first up game. Was never going to set the world on fire. I'd expect more from him later in the season. Can't wait to have Steven and Steele around him. Getting Lonie back will also mean Gresh can stay in the middle more. Cant believe how much we've missed the little guy up forward.

Totally agree with that last sentence. If we somehow get another 60 good games out of him in the seniors it will be a pass mark for Lethlean and the recruiters. I noticed his 'buddy' from Sydney is starting to get those recurring pescy soft tissue injuries as well.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Sun 23 Jun 2019 6:38pm Was really good in the first half before understandably running out of steam.

I was actually surprised at how well Hannas played. Well done to Richo and Lethlean for going public and putting the blowtorch on Hannas earlier this year. I wonder if he's totally stopped his partyboy ways. If he has, then perhaps we can look back and say that Richo and Lethlean got tha right. Fingers and toes crossed there

Hanners looks many classes above our existing midfield - his ability to win the ball and get it to the outside was something I haven't seen in our shi#%y lineup for 7 years now....and this, after an extended break with injury.
Wow - just shows how incredibly poor our current midfield really is...and how even poorer our recruitment staff have been.

He's definitely STILL a partyboy. No doubt about it. I think it's only a matter of time before things hit the surface.saynta wrote: ↑Tue 25 Jun 2019 2:43pmWhere is your proof that Hanners had" partyboy ways'?Scollop wrote: ↑Tue 25 Jun 2019 12:33pmTotally agree with that last sentence. As I said in the other post , where's your proof? If you want to make a statement denigrating a St Kilda player, you better have proof to back you.outside66 wrote: ↑Tue 25 Jun 2019 3:54pmHe's definitely STILL a partyboy. No doubt about it. Yet many on here where happy to judge him on not playing the first half of the year (papers stamped by some), now you are giving him 3 years, typical of many Armchairs on here!Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Sun 23 Jun 2019 6:38pm Was really good in the first half before understandably running out of steam.
