SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
SEN is not (for me) very trustworthy, and like the rest of the media, they rely on Chinese whispers.
But they're saying Hanners will be picked, and Stuv is a chance.
Who gets dropped for them? Sinclair?
I want Hind to stay in, he's explosive; but- he only had 59% game time, and got 7 kicks and 1 handball.
Hind is part of our future. Do they rest Dunstan, even though he really did well last week?
This will be interesting indeed

Re: SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
it was reported somewhere that Newnes did a shutdown job on JJ
apparently he did an OK job
I think Newnes was helped a lot by the other saints players

Re: SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
JJ still got a bit of footy but, as is the JJ way, his disposal was ordinary. I think that Steven and Hanners are both better players than Newnes.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 5:15pmit was reported somewhere that Newnes did a shutdown job on JJ

I don't want to drop the youndg kids with two experienced players coming back and Ross can't be dropped as he's the captain - but he probably needs a spell.

Don't think Newnes has really known what Cho wanted for about the last 3 years tbh. He has been playing well since returning thoughWellardSaint wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 5:15pmit was reported somewhere that Newnes did a shutdown job on JJ

Ross too played well this week and shouldn't be dropped. I don't see who they replace from that win...1 more week for bothLife Long Saint wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 5:18pmJJ still got a bit of footy but, as is the JJ way, his disposal was ordinary. You would want to see the dynamic of the team with both of them in wouldn't you ?
I would give Newnes and Sinclair a spell.

I could see it, but don't agree with it (for this week) 1 more week for both and see what happensGroovy Guru wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 5:22pm You would want to see the dynamic of the team with both of them in wouldn't you ?

Re: SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
Both in the mix to play for Sandy.
Neither is fit enough to run out a game.
There are guys at Sandy with their football future to be decided after the next 5 rounds.
Why not give them a chance to show their wares instead of these 2 unfit players.

True, Ratten commented that he was happy with Newnes' shut down of JJ. And he did shut down JJ.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 5:15pmit was reported somewhere that Newnes did a shutdown job on JJ

Both are midfielders, so if one or both come in, expect a mid to go out.

Newnes did shut him down, but I don't think we need a defensive stopper forward against the Dees.
Steven if not fully fit can play as a small forward with some "impact" runs through the middle. I would expect his TOG will be on the low side. So slot hi in for Newnes.
Hannas could come in for Hind. Hind stiff, but I would prefer not for Langlands as I believe his debut game was excellent and so he should be encouraged at present and not quickly shunted back to Sandi. Hind we have seen enough of to know that he is worth keeping on for 2020. Langlands we need to have a serious look at.
Again with Hannas you would imagine that first game back that his TOG will be on the low side.

Re: SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
It's a tough call to drop any player as to me it was our best win for the season. Hard to believe our first century. Reckon Steven still a bit rusty.

I’d play them both in the VFL. They will need to prove they can play out a full game first.

We know these 2 can play football, no need to rush them back until they can runout a game. Play the ones fighting a spot and their future.
Even then I’d only bring back them back staggered over a couple of games. We don’t need 2 undercooked players on the park.

I don't think either should play again this season. Play the youth.
I don't want Hanners to break down again, and a break will freshen Jack up.

Re: SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
Doulton and Hind enjoyed the win, they should remain as being younger, it will keep their spirits up.
Drop them, and it would be discouraging. You know, returning to a windswept second rate suburban footy oval
is a punishment, and for what?
That other coach would drop them the week after for no logical reason.
Ratts, I think, is different.

Re: SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
Need to bring in Rice and White before Hanners and Stuv.
Let the old fellows get up some fitness in the 2s.
White in for Newnes, Rice in for Parker??
Long another that may come back in as he was good against Geelong.
Some tough calls coming up. Nice problem to have.

Re: SEN reporting Hanners and Stuv in the mix
Hind probably under most pressure.
Newnes did job on JJ - yes not a fan but credit where due.
Cant believe Dunstan even mentioned in this conversation- aside form Marshall probably been most consistent in the last month.
