Written off by plenty on here during this year too.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Josh Bruce
Been a whipping boy for the last 2-3 years... was always our best forward IMO.
His struggles have been more about being played out of position, poor strategy and poor delivery

Re: Josh Bruce
I give credit to a poster that thought Josh was overrated
Lucky The_President gave him that rev up at the start of the year and called him B grade
Genius by The Pres. Wonder who is in his sights next?

Re: Josh Bruce
Looks great when he’s got space and the ball is coming in quickly.
Struggles, as anyone would, with long bombs into a pack situation.

Re: Josh Bruce
Spot on. Bruce is marking beast but he's not overly tall so the bomb it long crap was always having him try to out mark two or three opponents.
We're now creating space and lowering our eyes and he's bloody quick for a big guy so it's more to his advantage to have him be able to lead into space. We are playing to our forwards strengths for a change and wow, suddenly they look really good! Who'd have thunk it!!
I reckon Dermie is having an impact there also. I watched Dermie with the forward group at training a few weeks ago and they were hanging off his every word and he was really good with them. Lots of encouragement but also quick to point out what they could do better with positioning, leading patterns etc. Hope he sticks around.

Bruce is 197cm, that's reasonably tall for a Key Forward.stkfc1 wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jul 2019 11:02pmSpot on. Bruce is marking beast but he's not overly tall so the bomb it long crap was always having him try to out mark two or three opponents.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Josh Bruce
I watched the replay again, and he did several 2nd and 3rd efforts to harrass, tackle, smother- he is bloody fast for a 197cm KPP
Really found his mojo.
Those long set shots were full of confidence.
Like a champion golfer teeing off, he knew his technique was very good.

Re: Josh Bruce
Bruce’s last month has been real impressive, he’d be loving the fact the ball is now being delivered into the forward line rather than being bombed in on top of his head.

Re: Josh Bruce
Has been a completely different player from the North Melbourne game in Hobart. Credit to him, has taken our forward line on his shoulders. A great turnaround.

Yes, I gave him best on ground. Inspirational to his teammates.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Mon 29 Jul 2019 12:01am I watched the replay again, and he did several 2nd and 3rd efforts to harrass, tackle, smother- he is bloody fast for a 197cm KPP
