Any whispers on Marshall's knee??
It looked so bad at the time that I can't believe that there wasn't at least a minor injury. You might say "ahh yes but he came back on" but I remember Lenny Hayes coming back on and playing out about 2 or 3 quarters after he had done his ACL.
I sooooooo much want to be wrong but I'm suspicious because there hasn't been any statement at all that he is OK.

Watch the press conference. Clear statement of no damage to ligaments and a return to the field.

Yeah the way it went was not usually how ACLs go, which is more sideways. I was more thinking he had ripped his hamstring off the bone like Roo!

That’s what I thought too. Especially given how much pain he initially felt. And he grabbed the lower hamstring

I thought the same thing.
My binoculars were trained on him as he limped off, and I saw him initially clutching the top of his left hamstring (high up) and drawing the physio's attention to it - once he (i.e., RoMa) realised he'd dodged a bullet with his knee.
The physio still checked the knee out, nonetheless (to make sure).

Wouldn't mind seeing him get the week off to be safe. Even if he has escaped a noteworthy injury, that joint still surely would have pulled up pretty sore and some ligaments would have been stretched. No reason to risk our best player and arguably most valuable asset in a dead rubber.

Re: Any whispers on Marshall's knee??
I am just a mug punter but I would say that he would have to be doubtful to play against Carlton Saturday afternoon.
He was obviously playing sore and the club said we had a couple of players who were playing injured Saturday after suffering injuries during the match.
Because he was warmed up he could probably play the game out with a pain killer, but I have seen the marking contest he got injured in today and it looked like it would have hurt. If he pulls up sore today or tomorrow it's unlikely he'd play with a 6 day break.
Mind you he was getting up very high in the last quarter against Sandlilands in the ruck contests a couple of times.

Who would play as his replacement? Longer and Pierce both out, I guess Rowe maybe alternate in the ruck with Bruce? But a bit of an unusual lineup at ruck. Kreuzer would have a field day.

The way he celebrated Josh Bruce's goal indicated that there was nothing wrong with his legs.

With out lack of ruck stocks, he's our most precious commodity right now.
We can't play finals.
Don't risk him, put him in cotton wool for the year.

No way known he would have played with a pain killer on that one. Would be completely irresponsible and could put his whole career at risk.

I want us to beat Carlton. Can we win without him? Might have to use Carlisle in the ruck.

Was out on the ground at training today, stationery handball drills. Didn't appear to be limping and no strapping

Hanners was out on the track doing light training with a small group. Stuv made a brief appearance but then disappeared inside.

Re: Any whispers on Marshall's knee??
I think there is a few nerve branches above and below the knee around the ligaments. These nerves connect through the knee joint. Even with no ligament tear the compression on the nerves hurts like hell and all the ligaments respond in kind. If you are lucky not to damage the knee or ligaments it will hurt, then go numb and then become painless and you can recover fully. I'm hoping this was all Marshall experienced. The initial physical exam indicated no damage, I'm assuming a scan has been done and provided the same result. He wouldn't be on the track otherwise.

I should be laughing at Carlton, tanked to get Kreuzer with the nmuber one draft pick, only exceeded by Jack Watts.
But then our clowns went and wasted a number one on what's his name.
