I just can't help but be impressed with Lyon & Drain and the Saints recruiting efforts since Lyon arrived. Either ha has some "pictures" on a lot of people or he's very persuasive! The actual reason I believe is that we have been very realistic to deal with, when compared with some oth...

Thanks for the feedback SB.

I'm bringing a GORETEX hat, jacket, pants and shoes so I can survive anything. The '71 GF was very wet too but I was under cover then. Hoping for a better outcome thgis time around!

Does anyone have access to a seating map that shows how far the roof extends? I am trying to determine whether I will be under any cover from the rain or not. I am in Row F in Q55. I have seen seating maps on the web, but not one that shows the position of the roof overlaying the seats. It looks lik...

SP - My Mother, brother and I were also at the top of the Ponsford in '97 thanks to the MCC ticket sale, although we did get ours a couple of days earlier and at least we all got to sit together. My Mother, like her Father, was a long-time St.Kilda supporter and went all the matches, but that was he...

This will be my 4th after attending '66,'71 and '97. My grandfather took me to the '66 Grand Final and he got to see the Saints win their only GF. I am taking his MCC membership medallions that date back to 1948 to the match as a hopeful "Good Luck Charm" as I know he'll be there in "...

Congrats to all coming from so far! I am only flying down from Sydney. I've been to the GF in '66, '71 and '97 and even though a ticket is costing me$950 (ouch! - thanks to Swans office in Sydney - it's still a cheaper "package" than many other clubs offer) I still don't want to miss it fo...

For those looking for tickets I was able to ring the Sydney Swans (02 9339-9131) and spoke to Anita Murphy this morning and she was able confirm PRIME seating and a GF Brunch for $950 with my credit card details. What's even better, she has couriered the tickets to me and I have a ticket for Q55 row...

Good OP Bruce. This is pretty much how I feel too - Hopeful but still concerned for what can happen on the night, even though history is on our side. I am hoping my biggest problem will be trying to figure out how to get a GF ticket and a flight down to Melbourne! I hope all the Saintsational contac...

At 195 cm I can foresee Zac playing on Roughhead and Max taking Buddy due to the differences in speed & agility.

It will be interesting to see who Ross has them line up on Saturday. Gilbert, Fisher and Blake would be the potential "back-ups" if Buddy or Roughhead get on a roll.

BigMart - I just had the same thought on Dempster under the "Geary" thread.

He could potentially shut down those mid-sized players that usually kick the goals against us. e.g. Stevie J.

Isn't it interesting how few KPP's kick many goals against us!

Dempster might have the height and speed to be able to cover Stevie J if/when (not counting my chickens yet, but they're looking good) we meet again in the GF?

Appreciate feedback from the forum from those who have seen him up close, unlike me, who mainly sees it on TV (based in Sydney).

Happy Birthday Saints 94! It's my birthday too!

I was 15 years old when I attended the 1966 Grand Final and watched us win so I wish you the same good luck. I'm 58 and it's been a long time since we won a GF!

Let's hope this is a good omen for 2009!??

We owe them 100 years of "losing pain" for how they have had it over us for so long. Even in so many of our "good" years they still managed to beat us so it feels so good to watch them lose to us and see the supporter leave with their heads lowered instead of behaving arrogantly ...

If Max is fit (and he should be by now) I'd give him first shot at Fev. Max seems to have the better closing speed than Zac and since Fev is more of a leading player, than a pack mark player, I believe that Max is the better choice. Zac is probably the better choice for the resting Ruckman as he is ...

I am so pleased to see him playing up to his potential. He has always been one of the very best contested pack mrks in the AFL, just as he was pre-AFL. What I have been impressed about is that he is kicking very STRAIGHT and the ball is not shanking and snaking off the boot as we used to see in some...
