GRAND FINAL TICKETS THREAD - POST HERE IF SELLING OR BUYING

Post: # 824010Post Moorabbin Saints »

Should probably have one of these to make it easier for people who are either after tickets or are selling tickets. I'll go through the forum now for any people after tickets and put all details in first post. Mods feel free to keep updating if I don't get on. A sticky might help as well.

SELLING:
HarveysDeciple - 2 Adult Tickets from social club. PM him for details.

BUYING:
BackFromUSA - After 3 Adult tickets. Seperate or together. PM if you have any.
ausfatcat - After 1 or 2 Adult tickets. PM if you have any.
SteveStevens66 - After 2 Adult tickets. PM if you have any.
#1GILL - After 2 Adult tickets. PM if you have any.
mbogo - After 1 or 2 Adult tickets.
Seaford_Saints - After 2 Adult tickets.
Elvis - After 2 tickets, one adult and one child (willing to pay for adult).
SaintDebi - After 2 or 4 Adult tickets.
jonesy - After 1 Adult ticket.
Joffa Burns - After 1 Adult ticket.
St Loxton - After 1 Adult ticket.
axcellence - After 2 Adult tickets.
saint patrick - After 2 or 4 Adult tickets.
Munga - After 3 Adult tickets.
RaphClarke_MagicMan16 - After 2 Adult tickets.

I feel so sorry for you guys. I'm lucky enough to be an AFL Member. [/b]

I'd love to buy, preferrably four, otherwise two, but can't afford one of the packages unfortunately.
So many other loyal supporters deserve tickets as much or more than I do though.
I have a feeling the "buy" list is going to be WAY longer than the "sell" list.....

The member/not member thing is a good point. Sellers should be free to choose to sell to whoever they choose, member or not, but I suspect that many may prefer to sell to a fellow member. it would make it easier for them if buyers did state whether they are members or not.
For the record, my husband, two daughters and myself are all members who pretty much attend all games.

I was under the impression it was ok as long as you weren't making a profit?
If not I would be happy to have someone to gift me the tickets, and I'd love to buy a packet of chewing gum from you for the same sum as you paid for your tickets.

In case this is factored in: I've been a supporter since 1957. Me and my son have both been members since it was first made available (not sure of the exact year anymore--getting old!)

All that all of you want is the right to buy a Grand Final ticket if your team makes it.

But reality is about to hit like a Lenny Hayes tackle.

There is a strong chance you won't see your boys run on to the MCG on the big day.

I am a Hawthorn member with Gold reserved seating and a guaranteed Grand Final Ticket if we compete. I know what General Admission, or second tier members - without a guaranteed GF ticket as part of their membership - will go through to try to secure a spot (standing room if necessary) for the Grand Final, as I had several friends in that situation last year. It never seems to change - you look at the Wanted ads in the Herald Sun in the week prior to the Grand Final, and there are many, many requests for GF tickets. I've said for years that the distribution method should change so that it is fairer to those grass roots supporters who are there week in, week out, rain, hail or shine, to support their teams. It isn't fair that they miss out so some well heeled corporate who only attends one game a year can enjoy it at the expense of the mug in the outer. The AFL crack down hard on those who sell tickets at the ground (and I mean those who are offering to sell at face value), but refuse to look at themselves or their on-sellers who are involving themselves in a far more insidious form of scalping.
this a friends post in the blog and she has it right it is unfair that the supporters of the club that is in the gf miss [most of them] i hate it too the real supporters should be the ones there not the 1 day a year supporters !!!!

14. Authorisations to sell or distribute tickets
If there is an approved ticket scheme for a
declared event, the event organiser must—
(a) ensure that any authorisation to sell or
distribute tickets to the event on behalf of the
event organiser is given in writing; and
(b) notify (in writing) the Minister of the name
and contact details of each person who is,
from time to time, given such an
authorisation.

(b) place conditions on the sale or distribution of
tickets to the event prohibiting or restricting
the sale or distribution of tickets by persons
who are not authorised in writing to sell or
distribute tickets on behalf of the event
organiser; and
(c) require certain information to be printed on
tickets to the event (such as information
about conditions on the sale or distribution
of tickets and offences that may apply if a
person breaches such a condition).

20. Selling event tickets contrary to the ticket conditions
(1) A person is guilty of an offence if—
(a) without reasonable excuse, the person
knowingly contravenes a condition that—
(i) is printed on a ticket to a declared
event; and
(ii) prohibits or restricts the sale or
distribution of the ticket by a person
who is not authorised in writing to sell
or distribute tickets on behalf of the
event organiser; and
(b) the approved ticket scheme for the event
requires the condition to be printed on the
