By shaking up Butterss and the Board, I think Thomas is infact sticking to his word and doing everything he can for the club.

The sooner they're gone - particularly the President, the better.

RB's comments about GT underminning the club (mid season) were planned purely to ensure GT didn't get his $100K.
Or as bait to get him to say something that would ensure he didn't the cash.

Is this really a problem? In this day and age, are Board challenges and in-fighting really an issue? The only issue is that it scares players away - I highly doubt that would happen. Or scare members away - why would anyone not buy a membership based on 'off-field trouble'? Or scare off sponsors - t...

Don't get me wrong, I think the Hawthorn strategy has been very smart - however where they're at is the end on the first phase of a rebuild. Very similar spot to where the Saints were at the end of '04. Jury is out for me on Hawthorn for 2 reasons: 1) They're only reaching a point now where older p...

BUT that post-Waldron the saints got dudded in deals more often than not. The person in overall charge of this process st**d up...and our current list is not as good as it should be. What? When did we get dudded? More to the point, when did we get dudded moreso than other clubs have been dudded? Th...

Oh!!

Well, now I can relax.

Now if we can just get Lyon to want to win a flag - we'll be right!!

Fucck. If it was that simple.

We've known where we want to go since 1901.

I NEVER said it was the ONLY factor.,...nor implied it. You did imply it. You even started a thread in which the title literally said it was THE area that was our problem. You then harped on about West Coast having 34 rookies in their flag side. You absolutely implied it, and bordered on saying it ...

Surprising how a few words confuses you so easily.
It confused me because we have 'good' ruckmen.

And have had 'good' ruckmen in the past.

We need pace. Again your 'wish list' which you bragged about again is being taken on board by Lyon - impact zero. . Rodger....Ross is headed in the right direction.... I have ALWAYS said that it would take more than one draft period to fix our deficiences....ONE of which wasa lack of pace and run. ...

Sydney (and I don't support their trading modle)ceratainly trade more than many clubs.....and some would definbately fit the reject criteria...ie the quick guy from Geelong, the young ruckman from the Cats...and the defender from the Dons. 1/ I think you are only looking at where a ruckman really crucified us.....rather than looking at how a good to elite ruckman could have provided some extra advantage in virtually every game. How many elite ruckman are there in the game? Infact, how many elite ruckmen have their been in the history...

We have a new coach who has taken us from the finals to out of the finals. The last 7 premiership coaches Worsfold, Roos, Williams, Matthews, Sheedy, Pagan & Blight achieved exactly the opposite for their respective clubs in their first full year of coaching. We had the worst injury run any clu...

"Judge us on the 2nd Half of the Season"

I head Silvagni say this, and I also heard Lyon allude to it several times towards the end of the year as our season was slowly dying. If I were to judge us on the 2nd half of the year, we failed horribly. If I were to judge us on the first half, we performed better in my opinion. The first half of ...

However, St Kilda has been carved up time and again by good ruckmen in recent years, and it's time we addressed it. Have we? It cost us against sydney in 05 but that was only when Ackland did his knee. Against Geelong last year we were monstered. I don't generally recall being carved up that often ...

Wasn't that Grant Thomas's view also ..... Was he right all along ? Isnt it more important to get the ball away than the actual tap receive ? Quick mid fielders negate a ruck. Kind of. GT thought very highly of ruckman and tried to get several to the club. What he was misquoted and misrepresented i...

Really, what is Charman going to offer? I don't quite get the obsession (probably Robert Walls driven) with ruckmen. Who was the last ruckman to win a Brownlow? Darren Jolly and Jason Ball are the Swans ruckmen. Both, very run of the mill players - Jolly below average. He played against Cox in the G...
