Agree with plugger66 on this. I think it was a smart-arse comment and he didn't consciously deliberately penalise st.kilda... BUT... i believe he DID penalise us and unconscious bias was most certainly at work. The guy's a human being and we're all prey to all kinds of influences and most certainly ...

After last w'end who knows who'll win. Do think game vs Collingwood is vital to the final makeup of the 8. We need 4 quarters and to go on with 1st qusrter leads. Currently i'm more fearful when we have dominant, yet wasteful 1st quarters, than when we're trailing. Our mental strength is very questi...

2nd to 7th all lost - just reinforces the fact that there is GEELONG, then there is up to 11 other clubs that are all beatable if not fully switched on. Then there are the four basketcases...one of whom we unfortunately lost to! If we lose to port or freo it's most unlikely we'll make the eight - bu...

Thanks Moorabbin Saints for the

link

Umpires were always going to be for the home side over there, but eagles won simply because they put in harder.

She's a token who says anything to justify her (perceived) high standing position in the football media. Sometimes she's right, sometimes she's wrong, but she's where she is because of her gender, not her journalistic ability, not for her football knowledge, and certainly not for her integrity.

The bottom line is that this is an isolated incident and other teams will go away formulate a counter measure. No rule change required. There is no counter measure, other than deliberately conceding a free, hence, unless players play to the spirit of the game, a rule change is unfortunately require...

Re: karma

Even if teams do it, the man on the mark will be more aware of it, and teams will strategise against it. And what pray tell can the man on the mark do about it? Absolutely nothing - it doesn't allow any opportunity for the opponents and hence isn't in the spirit of a competitive sport. Those who th...

Most premiers go through finals with out a loss - if we can do that 4, 5, 6 doesn't matter - all games will be in melbourne (barring possible sydney clash). This year any vic team can win from 6th barring one massive hurdle -geelong!

Its not in the spirit of the game. The opponent has no opportunity.
Now because of his actions a rule will probably come in.
No one game is more important than the spirit of the game surely?

If Carlton had met Freo last year they would have had to tank bloody hard! Past close games irrelevant. Importantly BJ, Gram and Roo all seemed to get their mojo back. Agree with you here - this for me the biggest plus - BJ hard at it, Nick played with confidence and kicked a great goal, Gram improv...

Dream or Nightmare?

Had a strange dream on friday. The Saints played Freo in a very poor game - but i wasn't frustrated or disappointed. I was cheering them on and they fell over the post. I went on this site and their was a lot of positive stuff on here - turned the corner type stuff! Then i woke up saturday morning a...

We cannot play like last night and expect to beat the roos - we need goalscorers - milney has to come in! Agree with your outs and would add allen - put jones there and milney up front. we beat freo in melbourne exactly - perspective people - enjoy the win - but we barely won against a team putting in the worst performance i've seen all year - and that with our players (most anyway) busting a gut. It's a win so no point anyone moaning, but we need to lift a lot if we're to match t...
