Re: Rookie draft selections
Would the reason why we are more top heavy up forward be because tall forwards would take maybe a year or 2 longer to develop relative to a mid. This is exactly it. No point having mids peaking in 4 years and key forwards who are still 3 years off their best. McCartin was rated close to Petracca th...

Bring in tall forwards first, then mids the following year or two and they peak at the same time? Just a thought as I'm at a bit of a loss. The other being...

Re: What's left in the PSD and rookie draft?
Hugh Goddard was never considered to be drafted at No 21. We were supposed to take two mid sized players at 21 & 22. Hugh was just too good a gift to be overlooked by us. That means we got one more tall than we expected. The problem with taking a rookie midfielder to replace pick No 21 is that ...

Re: GWS now have 4, 6, 7 to trade for pick 1
I must say that if we did give up one for 4,6 and 7 then it certainly makes sense that we wanted McCartin all the time so we get 2 bonus picks of 6 and 7. Speaking to an assistant coach of Melbourne at the races yesterday suggested to me they will pass on McCartin and Wright and will certainly take...

For starters Sydney have pick 18 &, secondly, that pick has been committed to Isaac Heeney as an academy player.
Do your research next time and stop taking up bandwidth.
Idiot.

Hmm, can we push for another 3 picks in the top 20 and get another 3 elite players? It really shows how well we drafted last year.

Re: Shenton - todays futurefest signing
I'm just unsure whether at 24 he'll be a top 22 player in our next premiership. He's an honest trier but with limited upside and development in my opinion. I hope I'm wrong of course!

Great stuff.
I love the way the club has gone about it with the campaign. The stability is very uplifting for supporters, sponsors and the team.

Re: Unconvincing Kids
Siposs, Simpkin, Dunell are my main concerns. Siposs looked the goods but has gone awol this year. I'm a big fan of Simpkin but he's a KPP in the body of a flanker. Glimpses with Dunnell but I can't see him progressing. The 4 players in the OP have responded well to more game time granted bull could...

A solid debut. Yes raw but a good base to build out of. Has some good smarts and pace. Strength and endurance will help and that's what a pre-season is for. Easily trainined in relative terms compared to learning skills and smarts. I hope he remains injury free throughout the off/pre season. I loved...

Re: Longer and Hickey
I think they'll both be B+ or above ruckman and in a year will both be top 10 ruckman in the league. A lot will depend on injury/fitness. A ready made elite or close to ruckman takes years of development so their trade value will be high. We don't have a need for both so we'll trade one on to get a ...

Re: emma quale on the draft
A few murmurs that the too 20 in the draft could be pretty even etc.. I'm sure as we near closer, recruiters will firm up their order - this happens most years and phantom drafts are roughly accurate, of course there's always a handful of annomolies too. I reckon that having pick 1 or 2 simply mean...

Re: End of season delistings
Main list out: TDL, CJ, Dunell, Maister. Rookies out: Minchington I'd hope that Fisher's body holds up to take Gwilt's role or that third tall role. That running rebounding half back that saw him at the height of his career. Fingers crossed as he'd play a good mentor role and despite age will have m...

AFL live pass has been great for me this year. I too don't want foxtel as I'd only use it for the saints games.

Re: Jack Billings...An Interesting Selection
Conditioned via part games for saints in pre-season and by all reports a star last week in a game against Frankston. It's probably enough to get picked. In saying that, I'd say baring injuries that probably he and Eli will share the vest.
