Re: Pride Game this Saturday

It's not a big deal at all. It's just marketing/branding for the club. It helps them to attract a segment of the population without alienating any segment of the population. The club does all kinds of marketing and branding exercises. One could argue that's predominantly what the club is. As our hi...

Re: new changes for Sat

No one makes luck. The concept of luck is that by its own definition there have no influence or agency over it. Therefore, the concept of making one's own luck is illogical. By 'making your own luck' obviously what I'm trying to indicate is an ability to be competent enough to overcome bad situatio...

Re: new changes for Sat

Sydney have one injured player on their list, Naismith, who hasn't played all season. They have been at full strength for nearly the whole season. We will go into this game with 8 or 9 of or best 22 unavailable. If we get within 3 goals it will be a good effort. This is the weakest team we have fie...

Re: new changes for Sat

Did Hunter Clark make his own luck when his jaw was broken? Did Billings and Marshall make their own luck when they developed plantar fasciitis? Did Paton and Geary make their own luck when they broke their legs? Did Gresham make his own luck when he tore his achilles tendon? The argument that club...

1.40 on sportsbet looking pretty tasty for the Sydney win. Shouldn't bet against the Saints though it's bad mojo and means even if we win you can't enjoy it.

Best of luck to him. Feels appropriate to have a guy whose name literally means of or from Saints back home.

Re: Nicky Dal Appointed Saints AFLW Coach

It's a laughable appointment. Anyone who thinks this is based on merit wants their brains tested. Nick is a club icon and has been doing his apprenticeship coaching in the youth system up until now. What's wrong with that? Describes the career trajectory of about 1000 successful coaches I can think...

Re: Hannas Rumour from social media

Hannebery will play VFL again this weekend. If gets through a full game, he'll be considered against Geelong. I just hope he doesn't get in on reputation alone. Another 18 touch game in the seconds is not justification for a call up and he is not the future of this club. Pick a kid ahead of him who...

Re: Junction Oval in funding crisis.

Moorabbin has been developed and is a cutting edge facility, which everyone is happy with. There is no reason to move! History means nothing? Absolutely not…look at the EPL Clubs in England and how they have taken the world by storm. And it’s all based on their ‘superficial historic image’. Its a n...

Re: Inside Mail

Wouldn't ben be of most use to us as a replacement for Carlisle? He's definitely played back there and I think he could be a massive asset to the club as a long term CHB. don't really like the idea of two clones in a forward line and Max seems to be hitting his stride and starting to become the forw...

Re: What would we give for a 80% Goal Kicker???

Damn ball spinning!!! When the team the team averages 87% (6/7) week in week out from set shots I for 1 will be happy to not be concerned about ball spinning during approach on a set shot - until then I see it as an issue and an obvious one to address - I don't know if it will improve our efficienc...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2021

Nice kick out Dougal Terrible game from Howard. He won’t man up. Abuses others for mistakes, but makes a bundle himself. Needs a massive kick up the bum for that effort in the contest where Kennedy took the mark off his knee. If you look closely he was actually expecting to mark the ball even thoug...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2021

Got lucky with that one but King's earned that. Great job Maxxy. There's been half a dozen times this year where he had just about marked it and could have gone either way but it wasn't paid.

Big day for him.

Onya Maxxy. Seems to have ditched the unnecessary twirling the ball as well.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2021

The only positive in the last 15 minutes of that second quarter was the siren going just before Jamie Cripps ( not my favourite ex-Saint ) took a mark just in front of goal. It is starting to look very very ugly. Come on guys, dig in. Zac Jones is one of the few giving us some go-forward. I like Cr...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2021

Howard's gotta take a look at himself there. Kennedy was playing in front and in prime position and after a little bump Howard was actually expecting to mark rather than spoiling. You can't be doing that.

Kicking problems? What kicking problems?

(Max looks very focused and calm when he's taking his kick. He's looked jittery and nervous recently. Hopefully the switch has flicked.)
