Re: Geary needs to have a big year
So does Richardson. The first two and a half quarters were dreadful. Skills of players were way down and a pedestrian attitude prevailed.

Re: Really bad expressions and cliches used by commentators
How often do players and coaches say, "obviously" The best exponent is, obviously, the coach.

Differences between Watters and Richardson???
I see lots of similarities. Both have a boringly predictable game plan of playing around the flanks and kicking the pill to Riewoldt, at all costs. Neither is prepared to switch player postions when things go belly up. Great coaches are adaptable and have that expectation of players. Allan Jeans wou...

Re: Give Jones another contract
Our kicking skills in general were deplorable. If poor disposal is a reason for dumping a player, most of tonight's side would be gone (led by the captain). The argument for keeping Ledger out of the side because of his poor kicking skills is just a crock. Attitude should be a determining factor. We...

Re: Why does Siposs play, yet Ledger can't get a game?
Against Brisbane most of the Saint's players' kicking skills were appalling ( Riewoldt is an example ). We need someone who can get the ball, not contest avoiders like Saad and Sipposs. Having said that, there was a classy, but soft player at the Eagles called Don Pyke. He turned his game around and...

Re: Saad never misses
Dead-eye, tackles well, but his decision-making is still VFL paced. Needs to think quicker and be crisper in his delivery. Hesitates and is easily caught with the ball.

Re: Watters please drop Kosi.
He can run.....when he's not chasing. An injection of grunt might help. Should give up wrestling for marks. Too easily moved off, or under the ball. Gives up when opponents get a metre ,or so on him. A bit slow, like Saad, in decision-making. Turns like the Titanic. Good on the lead. Generally an ac...

In today's The Game section of the West Australian newspaper Buckley is quoted as saying, "We had a narrow victory (over the Saints) that should have been a lot more substantial than that." Perhaps??!! If umpiring decisions (paid and unpaid) are taken into consideration. However, statistic...

He played ok, but takes too long to make a decision when running with the ball and is easily pinged. Much like Gram.

Polo was a waste of space. Dragged in the third. Time for a clean out.

Re: Where are the umpire apologists tonight?
The umpires aren't cheats. Tonight's were just pathetic, easily conned by a noisy, aggressive crowd and swayed by mouthy 'pie players. It's a shame Geischen doesn't have a public email address. Perhaps the club could ask him some pertinent questions.

What did it was losing to Freo, Roos and Port Powder. Otherwise we'd be up there.

Re: This can be a positive..
Put Kosi down back. He starred there when he was a youngster. He has the strength and leaping ability to match it with big fellas like Cloke. He goes missing too much in the forward line. In the back line he'll be accountable.

Re: I was wrong about Jack Steven
He wasn't on his pat malone in decision-making, or delivery. What were Kosi's stats? How many limp-wristed attacks on the football did Gram make? How slow is Saad in getting rid of the ball? How tall are our key defenders? For a team that made heaps of mistakes and were killed by umpiring decisions ...

Re: Gram - Credit where it is due
Don Pyke was on the fringes, an outside receiver at Claremont and West Coast, much as Gram is at the Saints. A bloke called Malthouse installed some grunt into him and he became hard at the ball and tackling and an outstanding premiership player. Gram has the skill. He just doesn't possess the hard ...

Fraser Riewoldt
Has anyone else noticed how Riewoldt has modelled his playing style on Gehrig's? He spends a lot of the time trying to out-muscle his opponent. The problem is he doesn't have the strength to match it with 2 or 3 opposition players (let alone one). He used to be brilliant on the lead and flying over ...

Some discussion points
1. Is Rooey able to play anywhere other than the forward line? Jeans, the master coach, continually kept the opposition guessing. He'd play Cowboy at either end of the ground depending on circumstances. Barry Lawrence was brilliant as a defender, or forward. He rejuvenated Bob Murray's career by swi...

Re: Gram
Gram has the potential to break the games record at the club. He fails to chase and finger points at others to do so. He never puts his body on the line. He doesn't attack the opposition ball carrier. The only time he tackles is when he's second or third person in, or an opponent falls into his arms...
