Re: I Give Up!!!
I rarely agree with football commentators but Gerard Whately is bang on with this: "Round 1 is glorious for overreactions and it's notorious for misreads. But it's hard to sit here this morning feeling optimistic about St Kilda." Our footy club was given the perfect opportunity to make a s...

Re: Ratten would be a fool to ever play Kent again!
I know it’s a little fashionable to bag the disloyal forumites that bag Kent… But somebody go ahead and justify that performance 28yo old, 70 odd games… best preseason of his career (like I haven’t heard that before)… 4 touches, one tackle, a goal gifted to him by the opposition passing to him in e...

Re: Paddy McCartin a Swan
Should a young man with a long history of brain injuries be trusted to make the 'right' decision? Doctors have signed off on it. I’m assuming they were unaffected by brain injuries. Not sure you are right about that if they did sign off on it. Was Brayshaw from Melbourne told he should give the gam...

Re: Paddy McCartin a Swan
Apparently he's playing in the baclline which is a really smart gamble. Totally change the way he attacks the ball. One more head knock and that will probably be it for his career. Paddy should have given it away instead of exposing himself to incurable brain damage. Possibly but it's obviously a r...

Re: Essendon Game thread
Injuries are an unfortunate part of playing the modern game. No club is immune. When it happens to three of your best you have no choice but to take it on the chin. I feel for Hunter, Jack and Nick. But one player's misfortune is someone else's opportunity. The new talent young and older should take...

Surprised and glad we had the good sense to grab him.
By surprised I would have thought he was on the radar of a lot of clubs.
SA has been pretty good to us.
Dunstan not so much.

"Stuck In No Man's Land"
Opinions are like a part of our anatomy we don't like to mention in polite company. Meaning, we've all got one. SEN radio footy hosts Kane Cornes and Andrew Hayes gave theirs on the current state of the St Kilda football and it was not very complimentary. Maybe no surprises there but the gist of wha...

This is better. The newbies are going well which is very encouraging. Sandy might be a decent side in 2022

Re: Practice Match Carlton v St.Kilda - Ikon Park, Thursday 24th February, 10:00AM
I think the club made a mistake not to play some of the newbies against the blue baggers. There was nothing riding on this match and it would have been smart, to give them a taste of some real opposition rather than 'playing' against their own team-mates. Unless the view is that none will debut thi...

Re: It Takes All Of Us And It Starts Now - New Video
Ra Ra videos are no substitute for winning games of footy.
And we don't win enough. Haven't for some time.
Let's just wait and see how 2022 unfolds. Faith is not a one way street.

Re: Training - Friday February 12
Loving this report. The new, young academy boys seem to be doing well which is very pleasing. Really like the look of Josiah Kyle. Didn't attract the attention of the others before we got him on board but he seems to have some special tricks up his sleeve. If he turns out to be another Charlie Camer...

Today was a half a scratch match, with most players on the list competing plus a compliment of Sandy players. NEW PLAYERS MARCUS WINDHAGER- Didn’t look out of place at all, with his power running able to get him to many contests. Seems to have footy smarts and poise…exciting prospect, alternating b...
