Re: Spud's Game Match Thread - vs Brisbane @ Marvel - Round 15
At the moment I'm not worried about players being suspended because there was nothing there. What I'd like to see is a "HOME" team play like this is our turf and we're going to smash you. It can't happen when the same 5 blokes turn up and the rest watch. 2 goals to half time ..spare me !

Re: 3 Swans
If Owen's and Windy play we can win this. From memory we should've beaten them at the SCG recently but the nickname Missy Higgins was born. Franklin has been terrible this year but knowing our luck he'll have his one good game like Rioli from Port. If we can't beat this Sydney list then I think we m...

Warner, Papley and Blakey have to be contained if we're to be a chance in Buddy's 350th. Parker out gives our midfield no excuses, all of them at a minimum should get 20 touches. Papley sparks the crowd and has to have someone wear him like a glove. Blakey burst through the middle every chance he go...

Post bye I'd feel more optimistic with Owen's and Windy in the middle against the Swans plus they now won't have Parker.

Interesting stat on SEN
Daniel Hoyne from Champion data :- In the past 4 weeks the Saints were top 4 in defence and are now 13th. From memory Wilkie went from 4th to the 20's, Battle moved from about 23rd to 29th but Howard went from 13th to the 80's. When asked if that was due to less team defence the guy said no, he was ...

Re: Our midfield
Agree the mids were kicking to him but he was winning it on the ground as well. When Higgins dropped the chest mark he started sulking and walking to the top of the goal square, meanwhile directly behind him Sicily just sprinted past him and set them on their way. Mids can't be blamed for that..... ...

Re: Our midfield
I think Ross is right when he says we pick and choose. Only a handful of players we can rely on week in, week out. I feel like we play like a team that has won a premiership and when we're expected to win we don't respect the opposition. We haven't earned the right to behave like that yet. I would a...

Re: Our midfield
Ross started well last year and then faded, doing the same this year. Needs a spell and may be useful later in the year as backup. Windy has to come in, pure footballer the midfield is screaming out for. Towelled up Neale and Newcombe previously. Had a broken hand and is now ready to go. Gresham pla...

Re: Changes for next week
The last 2 posts well done. When we had all the injuries at the start of the season we coped. Players in form got games. We all thought end of the world when regulars weren't playing but others got a chance and thrived. I don't care any more about your past if you can't give 100% then bring someone ...

Re: Crowd this weekend
From a guy who had to move to SA through no fault of my own I love gather round. For the record I despise SA teams. I can go to the footy for $30. When I go to Melbourne it costs me $500 to $1000. I went to Swans v Tigers last night and the amount of Vics over here having a good time was awesome, I ...

Re: Mason Wood
Good post. I don't think this guy gets the accolades he deserves from his own fans. The media rated him BOG on Saturday and the discussion on here was about everyone else. I think he was the player that stood up last year when others found it too hard (watch the replays). When I was talking to my ma...

Re: Round 6 - Festival of Football in Adelaide
Thanks desertsaint and there'd be others like us in WA, we do the hard yards because we're not surrounded by Sainters. I'll tell you one thing, if we win the big one a lot of SA people will text me and congratulate me because we are their second team over here. Thanks everyone in Vic for the trainin...

Re: Round 6 - Festival of Football in Adelaide
For those that hate the concept spare a thought for those of us living in SA (due to adoption) that were born in Vic. I spend nearly $1k if I want to see the mighty saints against anyone but the moronic Crows and Power. You guys can go whenever you feel like it. Finally I'm looking forward to taking...

Great kick, footy smarts, good mark, exceptional vertical leap (will take mark of the year), confident, x factor, kicks pressure goals. Let's play him in the backline ????? I hope Ross sees what I see in Sharman, Windhager and Owens

Re: The brutal business of the AFL
Some really good posts here. I just love footy, I can't believe how much people talk about administrators. It's the blokes on the field (coaches and players) doing their best, all trying their guts out to win a premiership. A lot of it is luck...injuries, father/son...fixture.. current rules suit ga...

Re: Looking forward to 2023?
I have to agree with Scollop here. Sometimes I just watch and wonder where our Senior players go ? Body language of a lot of them is just incomprehensible because I've seen them at their best. I don't like naming on here but I know who they are. I'll name the 2 that never do.. Wilkie and Sinclair. I...

Re: Mother Son Rule
Good point. Due to their season being shorter they should reduce the amount of games to be eligible. I'm sure if there was a Mrs Daicos or Mrs Silvagni the rules would change.

Mother Son Rule
It might’ve been on here before but is it right that an AFLW player could have a gun of a son and he becomes eligible under the Mother-Son rule in the future? Yes, I know I sound desperate, looking for anything, any little leg up, any little advantage, any bit of luck...... it's because I'm now offi...

I noticed Wilkie spoke to the media this week and in the inner sanctum video he was the one who spoke up. He was BOG by a mile last Friday and is our most consistent. I hope Steele also speaks this week... Ratts said our game plan isn't switch kicking 40m into the middle... why are players doing it ...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bulldogs Round 18 2022
Owen's and Windhager will form the best midfield in a few years but it's time for Sinclair to join them. Apart from Steele we can't rely on the others. Clearly Sinclair is a mid. Gresham is a small forward pinching in the midfield. Don't like it Gresham, prove me wrong. Bont was a class above all.
