Re: Who needs a rest in the 2's?
Bruce. Has struggled for nearly his last 30 games. Gives us little up forward and cant ruck at all. New ideas neaded. Bring in Marshall. Couldn't be any worse up forward and couldn't possibly be worse as a 2nd ruck. Sent from my SM-T210 using Tapatalk Seems to be that Bruce is a second forward/cent...

Re: Who needs a rest in the 2's?
Lay off Gilbert ffs. The continual bagging on here of Sammy just goes to show the lack of footballing knowledge of so called supporters who think they know more than the coach. It gives me the s***s. I completely agree. He does everything the coaches ask of him each week, in multiple roles.as well....

Still don't understand the Gilbert hate. He does his job week in week out. Thought he was one of the better players yesterday.

Re: time to try Longer?
I think now that the third man up is gone, Billy has become far more valuable a commodity. A mobile ruckman is good when he can have help getting hitouts by another player, and can also help around the ground. But a good tap ruckman doesn't need to do much more then give his mids the best possible t...

Re: Paddy Whackas, enough already!!!!!
I have never posted before now. Was at the Sandy Richmond game earlier and IMO Paddy had more presence than ever. He was really quite ferocious and at one stage, collided heavily with a tigers player in an intimidating manner. Paddy's stats may have not been overly impressive but IMO he came of age...

Sadly, I think that was Paul roos who said that23Buckets wrote:Roo should definitely play on next year. Heard a someone say this week that he is worth three to four wins himself a year in any team. Which I completely agree with. There is a strong possibility that we don't even make finals without him.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
It makes next week's clash even more important. Apart from the four points, we can improve our draft position and hopefully break the dorks resolve completely. Imagine if they are 0-6. Hopefully they then throw the towel in for the year and start experimenting and investing in youth, etc. unfortuna...

Re: Saint Nick 2018!!!!!
Am I completely off the mark by saying that he is playing just as well as he ever was? Bullseye. I look forward to him winning the Norm Smith in 2018. He'll also be the first father in the AFL to play a senior game with his son. It's only 16 years away. By that time he'll probably be playing as a s...

What's his kick to handball ratio He always looks to give off, doesn't he trust his leg? BTW, before everyone goes crazy, he's been a good pick up I think he tends to play more of an inside role. Wins contested ball and Feeds out a handball to a runner. Could be wrong, but he seems to have a lot of...

The great feeling of seeing hawthorn lose is doubled with the knowledge that every 80 point loss they have, is a step closer to the number 1 draft pick. A very happy saint supporter here

Saints on Footy Flashbacks right boss That massive comeback against the Dogs in 2015. Armo looked fit, Billings was on fire. Two rucks player but Hickey looking useless up forward. Hickeys tackle on bob Murphy was pretty inspiring at the end of the second quarter, may have inspired the boys to come...

Re: Where is Riewoldt amoungst our all time greats?
In terms of playing ability, it's hard to go past plugger or banger. But Roo's loyalty to the club is second to none in our history bar Trevor Barker. Always given his best and put the club first, even when he was offered a possibly enormous contract as well as the chance to return to where he grew ...

Re: Freo has beaten Melbourne at the G
Betts is better than Milney - and that's saying something He is sure as s*** better than Cyril Not buying it. Milne was stuck in Lyon's ultra-defensive, low scoring side. If he'd been playing for Adelaide right now he'd be kicking six every week. Milne would probably kick more goals consistently, b...

Is that total turnovers or turnovers as a percentage of disposals? We are 17th for disposals per match, 230 behind Melbourne already… can't turn it over if you don't have it :D Have a look at disposals per goal. Considering how inaccurate we are in front of goal, that stat might not represent the s...

Least turnovers in the league
A lot of comments about our lack of skill around the ground, but turns out that we turn over the ball the least out of any team in the league.
Just an interesting fact I thought

I will preface this by noting that I watched the game streamed to my iPad in Phuket. In the last quarter when Paddy took a low down chest mark, I am confident I heard an ironic cheer. Very disappointed if it was Saints "supporters". Please, let's not be that type of club. Yep it was an ir...

According to footywire ... Gilbert's efficiency was about the same as Pendlebury's last year... 78% to 79%. Pendlebury is an excellent user of the ball, as we all know - he wins more possessions per game, of course - but he's a midfielder. This is when I see red. I am hapy for people to dfend Gilbo...

Yeah, he truly hasn't reached the great heights of Patton or Boyd or even the great Jack Watts yet. Give him some time, and he could end up much better then those blokesWhite Winmar wrote:None of those you look at are No. 1s . What is the point of such a comparison? Paddy is a No.1.
