Re: 2021 fixture
My take on the draw...challenge accepted! I don't think we now need to be the team to always look for favourable draws, no interstate games, etc. if we're after a 2nd (or more) flag. We've got to basically understand to win the lot, you've got to beat (more or less) the lot and you're going to have ...

Re: This is how the Crouch deal will go down.......
Don't understand the fuss. There was nan open market for crouch. We paid the most. That salary we offered was within the range of a band 3 pick. A band 3 pick is the second round which is the range of picks 19-38, but slides after other comp to 23-42. So the open market valued Crouch at pick 23-41....

Re: Dare to Dream boys...
I’m not saying we’re favourites but I think we’re a great, great chance. Momentum is a great thing this time of year and we’re building not spluttering...I really think tonight should be a belter and well be in it all night. Last time we played the Tigers I thought we were no chance and was pleasant...

Feel sorry for Ben - you used to be respected for playing tough finals footy - now you’re penalised for imagining you might’ve hurt someone. I had chicken for dinner but could have had tofu... am I an imaginary vegetarian??

Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
Great game - a couple of things: - Dan H: yes he’s on a lot of coin, yes he gets injured, but watching him tonight showed he’s determined and he’s class - Geary; I start to believe all the negativity, and then I see what he does to shut out opposition key players and also contribute and understand w...

Re: Best debut you can remember....
May not be strictly the best debut but it was a good glimpse into the future... i was watching a practice game vs the Bears at Carrara in the mid 80's. We had the lead and lost it, and were in the last quarter and losing (so starved of success even practice games were important!). Anyway it was into...

Re: Boy what an effort!!!
Just a great gutsy win. Port threw the kitchen sink at us at the start of the 3rd quarter and (with the baying port crowd behind them) we withheld the storm and kicked a couple ourselves. Then the 4th quarter domination (the opposite of recent history) was superb....and we’re kicking straight!

Re: What sort of game are you expecting tonight?
This should be the type of game that shows we can bury inferior opposition. I can't remember the last time we truly went on with it and really flogged a team. In the last 6 or so years a win has been precious enough. If we are to be a real contender we need to win these types of games by a lot.... A...

Re: Any word from Ratten?
Saw the presser and Ratts looked well and truly p****ed about the performance. I’m not a fan of wholesale changes after a loss but that game looked like players cruising after quarter time thinking the game is done. I’d rather have a few guys putting in and making the odd mistake rather than someone...

I like that we’re winning...more importantly I like how we are winning. Aggressive positive footy which is rare in the comp this year. Go Saints!

Re: Team v Dogs
I like the fact I agree with the team selection and am still annoyed with one or two of the omissions! For too many years the team has almost picked itself...competition for spots is good for us. Any slip ups or laziness from the backline has Battle and Roberton waiting in the wings. Same can be sai...

For those guys commenting about New Zealand for games....a quick update from Auckland. Our restrictions have just been relaxed a bit from 2 days ago, but are still more severe than most Aust states. Sitting through the 3rd week of N Z shutdown I’ve caught up on a lot of old games...just finished watching the 2004 preliminary against SASkunks. What a gutsy effort that was and wonder if that wasn’t a better balanced team than we has in 2009. Not necessarily more skilled, just a great team that wa...

Re: Afl lovechild
Based on the last Wellington game we had, I may beg to disagree with Nick on his assumption of a lot of NZ based Saints supporters. When I enquired with the club re a ticket they gave truly royal treatment for me as being from Auckland and making the trip down to see the game (the club hotline team ...
