Re: Zone defence is dead.

Well zone defending isn't going to work that well when nobody runs. But I noticed it too for the whole game I was wondering when we were going to man up and stop giving Essendon so much space and the easy overlap handball.

Re: Am I missing something with the Membrey “play on”

That's just the new AFL rules screwing with the game. Now they're telling umpires that if a player walks off their line they should call play on AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Re: Hickey looks a new player!

I always rated Hickey. He was a young ruckman who did some nice things, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the only reason we traded him was because he was one of the few players we had who actually had any value.

Re: Positive insightful BF post!

Posted by Kingsman on BF trade thread - Billings was offered a huge contract by essendon, didnt even look at it apparently. Says he is staying at the saints long term. They will be working on a deal for an extension after the cap is sorted and has is under no illusions that it will be significantly...

Re: Potential match ups

Not sure how posters are so confident in Roberton. Played round 1 and didn't exactly get noticed. If he was anywhere near his peak form that everyone remembers he would have played again this year.

Re: Dan Hannas

There's nothing wrong with staying in position. If all of our players dropped back every time we lost possession there's no one up the ground to go fast on the rebound. Worked smarter not harder.

Re: Why the saints passed on Petracca. Inside story

It's painful to see my uninformed opinion on this draft from 2014 come true. I mean I was a naive 23 year old from Adelaide who knew it was the wrong choice.

But let's not forget that McCartin was an excellent player and could have been something.

We should have lost this game. All the stats say so and I think this was one of our worst performances of the year and GC performed at their best. Without that freak Butler we would have been smashed.

Ken Hinkley the next coach to bitch about the umpires. Watch his press conference. I agree with most of what he said because the rules shouldnt change week to week, but what specifically was he talking about when he said this was a 'strange' game?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Crows Round 7 2020

At the game and extremely frustrated with how we refuse to switch the ball. Constantly kicking long down the line, but on the other side of the ground is miles of space and loose St Kilda players. We will be 10 goals down against a decent side.

Will be the first and most likely last AFL game I will attend in 2020. To win the first game at Adelaide oval would obviously be sweet. Will be there with a face mask on but will scream my guts out!

Todays win as well as the bulldogs win this year will rank on our record table AFL stats most accurate games with 15+ scoring shots: https://afltables.com/afl/teams/stkilda/gamer.html#12 And I think even the all time record table: https://afltables.com/afl/teams/allteams/gamer.html#12 That 18.2 agai...

We had first use, it would have been tough as a forward for the WB tonight, and Wilkie was outstanding against him. Bruce was a pretty good player at times but always seemed to fall into the trap of not getting enough separation from his opponent despite working so hard.

I always liked it because that was when I started supporting the Saints. My first Saints jumper at 7yo with no number, but it would have been #35 if I got one put on.

STOP SPRAYING SITTERS

Man oh man, has it been a long time since I've felt confident in front of goal. Easy for Lloyd to say it's easy to fix. Surprised he has us playing finals after that round 1 fade out, but maybe we needs some noise at the ground.

Re: Sam Gilbert 2 year ban for cocaine use

Sam Gilbert was a player that seemed to get less confident as his career went on. Started like a house on fire and was an instrumental part of the side in '09. Seriously go back and watch some of those games and he was a marking machine that would just take the game on and deliver it lace out again ...

Re: Bruce Requests trade to Dogs

I'm not torn over this. Bruce always found it pretty hard to get seperation on his opponent and have away his fare share of frees trying to pluck a mark. He was a good forward, but not a great one. Yeah our delivery wasn't the greatest. But having someone with presence who can demand the ball in the...
