GEEZUS

Why do people think we should chase everyone who is available? I've even heard that Joffa is going to defect from the filth. Imagine having 2 JOFFAS, one wearing his Kimono and the other wearing his gold jacket   !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Correct, he was right under our noses and one J Bevo didn't pick him...obviously didn't rate him or his running ability !!!

As mentioned in another thread our recruiting over the years has been nothing short of disgraceful....

Yep, our recruiting has been so bad, that since 2004 we've played in 5 preliminary finals and 2 Grand finals. Disgraceful!

Of the last 72 Rising Star nominations ...

we have had ...

ONE
(Geary in 2008).

What does that say about our recruiting?

Bruce would be a top 18 player for us in 2011 and would have another year after that. I'd be happy to get him, salary cap reasons might prevent that.

There is some potential in the recycled players this year. I'd be happy for us to take one in the ND or PSD and one in the rookie draft. Bruce and Proud as a rookie would be excellent.

It says we have a different approach, partly forced upon us by our own success and partly due to RL's philosophies. What is the relationship between rising star nominations and premierships? I know you'll do your homework and come up with an answer, Enrico.

If we got for Cameron Bruce we may as well chase Leon Davis.

Two overrated hacks who will do nothing for us other than clog our lists.

WTF are some of you thinking?

He barracked for St. Kilda so this is one good reason to get him? FMG.

Oh no, it's been horrible!

If we had some of the experts from this thread we'd nail EVERY single draft pick!

I can understand why you wouldn't want to recruit a 30/31 year old but the comparison with Leon Davis is plain stupid.

One is a best and fairest winner and has been a consistently good player for a long time and the other is Leon Davis.

Well you could mount an argument that we would have won a flag or two in that period IF we had drafted better.

It's all semantics really.....and my opinion is that we haven't recruited well.

Cameron The Bruce clearly wants a two year deal, otherwise he would stay at Melbourne.

For an old fart like him, it would be about the money, and having 2 years of security.

I agree with Plugger - I can't imagine we could offer him enough, and I also highly doubt Ross would want to commit a 2 year deal for a 30 year old!

He may want to play for a club that he supported growing up and have one last genuine crack at a premiership. Money would have been pretty good over the journey and might just want a piece of silverware instead. I would say he would be in our top 10 players most weeks and he doesn't go missing too often.

He would be rated a lot higher at a higher profile club, when the dees were up and about he was always in the top few players at the club.

The thing with Bruce is that yes, he is a decent player.
Was very good a few years ago.
But these days, he CANNOT KICK. Has terrible disposal.
We seriously can't afford to have him in the team.

It says that we have had numerous top 4 finishes & a pretty stable 22 that kids don't get as much of a run in as other clubs.

I would argue that McEvoy and Jack Steven have been stiff in not getting a nomination.

Compare that with a club with a comparable recent history of top 4 finishes... maybe Geelong- off the top of my head I would say they would have had Selwood, Hawkins and Varcoe in the past 4 years.

The hawks are interested in more players than Charmyne Palavi...

if we could get Bruce in the pre-seaon draft HELL YEAH. if he goes in the national draft then id use pick 60 on him for sure.

id be tempted to use 43 on houli. but we simply must keep and use 24 on the best kid available.

I'm sure Anthony would love to play on the same team as Grammy.

They've got a bit in common already.

Thats a damning stat Enrico. Ive argued this point long and hard on this forum for the last 5 years and I know people dont want to hear bad news but saints fans should be very concerned. we are going to need some extrmely good coaching and a lot of luck to come out ok.
