Saints Offering free tickets for Friday night

Post: # 1087189Post Saint_Ash »

I got this email last night which offer a free tickets to Friday nights game. I guess the club is worried about low numbers turning up to the game.

Not too sure why I got it, considering I have been to a few games this year, I am guessing it has something to do with my AFL membership and having saints social club membership too.
Dear Saint_Ash,

We're missing you!

We have noticed that you have not yet attended a St Kilda game in 2011, and we want you to help cheer on the Saints when they play the Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium this Friday night!

To help make sure you're in full voice, we would also like to offer you a free ticket so you can bring a friend to the game with you!*

A ticketFast ticket has been made available in your My Saints Account, which you can now download and print. Just follow the easy instructions below.

How to obtain your ticketFast ticket:

Using your My Saints Account ID (xxxx), follow these five easy steps:

Step 1 - Login to your My Saints Account.

Step 2 - Access the Manage My Products section.

Step 3 - Select 'Print' in your account.

Step 4 - Follow instructions to obtain your ticket.

Step 5 - Take the ticketFast ticket to Etihad Stadium on Friday night and scan the barcode at the turnstiles to gain entry.

Please note: If you have multiple members registered under one email address, then you will receive this email multiple times (one email per member). Each email is a separate entitlement to this offer.

If you are experiencing difficulty downloading your ticketFast ticket or if you have any membership related questions, please contact the Membership department on 1300 GO SAINTS (1300 467 246).

Thank you for becoming a Saint in 2011. We look forward to seeing you and your friend at this week's clash!

GO SAINTS!

Just seems to be the way the club is. Rewards the bandwagoners and weak of heart.

There was a competition being run a short while ago to win a prize for signing up to a 3 game membership.

Once you're in, you seem to be forgotten about.

Poor attention to existing and long-term member needs/opportunities has been a concern of mine for a long time now. With limited staff, the Club is clearly focusing most of their resources on generating "new members."

I hear posters saying "support the Club and don't expect too much in return," but if the attention to members stays where it is, many, many "so-called soft members" will drop off, including Social Club members. It will then be "what happened" when it is too late to get many back.

Family household costs are increasing substantially and our "window of opportunity" for a flag is beginning to close, so it will be difficult to maintain membership levels, let alone increase them.

Well perhaps we could start by selling one or two games interstate next season.

I prefer all home games in Melbourne but when the bandwagon goes, so does literally a million dollars from our bottom line!

I'd only do that if we were no chance of making the 8, because otherwise it can be very costly: see 2004-2006!

Don't sell a home game to the filth then they will whinge about travelling to Etihad.

I'm not too concerned with being treated poorly as a committed member, because I know the 'Footy First' ticket has the right priorities... i.e. footy department spending.

Ultimately a few less perks here and there don't matter if we can get Dave Mission and for a golden while Leigh Tudor :(

That said dcstkfc, the 2 new high profile specialists - PR person and Contracts person (strong legal background), would not have come cheaply. Not saying that they are not needed, but the high salaries impact on what can be made available for Footy Department spending.

these will also take time to take affect- planning for 2011 was probably done from June 2011- so these and other appointments will as much as anything be working on 2012,

the Board have worked on getting the Football department solidified and as full as possible- this is the basis for the clubs being.
they have worked on the facilities ( just need to better establish heritage museum etc and use of Linton st).
they have consolidated financial support through sponsors etc.

and it's to be hoped that Fan/ supporter /membership is now in line for support.

I see the appointment of a legal person for player contracts etc ad a must have given free agency is coming.

but far from being offended that I didn't get offered a freebie for this week I see it as good to encourage those who may be wavering to get along and create a crowd.

I know of many who went ' soft' about attending last weekend and not one of them was about the Saints playing/ position But about the oppositions supporters- and given their Presidents example I'm guessing this won't change in a hurry.

Ahhh yeah that "great" inequality in our great game. Football department spending. Can't remember where we are but we aren't travelling too badly compared to others.

I guess it's how those funds are utilised and proportioned.

The saint ash is obviously already a member, so all ash is getting is a free ticket to bring a friend.

My guess is that they have data that says that people drop off if they dont come to a game. So a good idea IMO to think of a way to get them to a game, and maybe get more involved.

If we think about the club first and ouselves second, we would have a stronger club/
